Darbā tiek aplūkota tulkojumu kvalitātes novērtēšana kā kvalitātes nodrošināšanas sistēmas sastāvdaļa, pievēršot īpašu uzmanību tulkotāju atlases procesā kandidātiem piedāvāto testa tulkojumu kvalitātes vērtēšanai. Darba mērķis ir piedāvāt tulkojumu kvalitātes novērtēšanas sistēmu un ar tās palīdzību veikt testa tulkojumu korpusa kļūdu analīzi, tādējādi pārbaudot sistēmas piemērojamību tulkojumu vērtēšanai. Alternative measures of body composition and wage premium: New evidence from Indonesia

This paper examines the relationship between body composition and earnings in a developing country setting. We use body mass index, waist circumference and hip circumference. Exploiting the panel structure of our longitudinal survey, we find that along with BMI, waist circumference is related to higher earnings in Indonesia. peerReviewed

Using data from the participants of the Jyväskylä Longitudinal Study of Personality and Social Development (JYLS) at ages 42 and 50 (N = 326), this study provides empirical evidence of the relation between income and mental well-being and of the possible role of personality traits in modifying this relation. The relationships were analyzed using pooled ordinary least squares (OLS; bi- and multivariate settings) and fixed effects estimations (FE; multivariate settings). Purpose To study the prevalence and risk factors of myopia with data from a questionnaire study conducted in 1983 among Finnish school children. Methods School children (n = 4 961) from the 1st, 5th and 8th grades of school (7-, 11- and 15-year-olds) in Central Finland were screened for vision followed by a questionnaire, which was returned by 4 352 (87.7%) participants. Myopia was categorized based on the questionnaire. The prevalence of myopia has markedly increased in East and Southeast Asia, and pathologic consequences of myopia, including myopic maculopathy and high myopia-associated optic neuropathy, are now some of the most common causes of irreversible blindness. Hence, strategies are warranted to reduce the prevalence of myopia and the progression to high myopia because this is the main modifiable risk factor for pathologic myopia. Standard video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery has been reported as a minimally invasive approach alternative to sternotomy for management of myasthenia gravis (MG) associated with thymoma or thymic hyperplasia. Uniportal video-thoracoscopy is an evolution of standard multi-portal video-thoracoscopy for management of several thoracic diseases but its role for resecting mediastinal tumor remains under-evaluated. Herein, we describe our experience with bilateral uniportal thoracoscopic sequential extended thymectomy with case and video illustrations.

In this chapter, we review the state-of-the-art of the Campi Flegrei caldera (Naples) hydrothermal system, and its behaviour during the last decades. The Campi Flegrei caldera has been undergoing unrest since 1950, as evidenced by recurrent bradyseismic episodes accompanied by manifest changes in the degassing budget, degassing patterns and in the composition of the fumarolic fluids.
