Co-design and test of biodiversity-based pesticide-free Conservation Agriculture in the long-term CA-SYS platform in France
2022
The French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) has established an ambitious experimental infrastructure (the CA-SYS platform) in autumn 2018 after 5 years of co-design with farmers, crop advisors and researchers. CA-SYS covers an area of 125ha divided into 42 fields. The originality of CA-SYS is that it is explicitly conceivedfor the design and evaluation of biodiversity-based and pesticide-free agroecological systems across agriculturallyrealistic scales. An agroecological system will comprise a matrix of fields of one (or a few) cropping systems over anumber of years interacting with adjacent semi-natural habitats (hedges, grass margin strips, flower strips). Trustworthiness of information about students' competencies in fundamental concepts in calculus provided by written examination
2015
International audience; The research reported in this paper aims to explore how students' competencies in calculus are exposed when being assessed. Several different competencies are required to achieve proficiency in mathematics. However, one problem is when the main focus of the student lies within procedural fluency because this is what pays off in the final examination. In this paper, written examination and task-based interview are used to find information about one student's competence in using formulae, fluency in written procedures, and strategies used for solving tasks. It is argued that the information about the student's competencies seen through a task-based interview is differe…
Recovery and stress states: Did perceived control and goal attainment matters during tapering period?
2019
IF: 1.148 (Q2); International audience; We examined whether perceived control predict recovery and stress states during an ecological tapering period of 2-weeks that led to the target competition of the year for 39 expert adolescent swimmers (13 women and 26 men; Mage = 17.56; SD = 2.09 years). Swimmers completed quantitative measures (RESTQ-36-R-Sport; Perceived control; A-SAGS) before (Pre_Tapering) and after (Post_Tapering) the tapering period in order to monitor their recovery and stress states, perceived control and goal attainment. Regression analyses integrated perceived control and goal attainment as explicative variables, and Pre_Tapering covariates were included to the model. One …
De quelques difficultés à cumuler ses savoirs sur les phénomènes éducatifs : l'exemple de la démocratisation de l'enseignement
2002
This paper aims at showing the difficulties regarding the building up of knowledge about educational processes, especially as far as democratization is concerned. The stake here is to boost the scientific character of results in educational research, and therefore its legitimacy and its influence upon educational policies. The authors stress the importance of the historical context of data, the leading part of conceptualization, so that the structural changes of schooling may be grasped, and also the impact of technical measures upon factual knowledge. Finally, the issue of data, a difficult one in that field like in other ones, is illustrated by the analysis of the relation between "ZEP" (…
Relationship between cognitive and driving self-assessments in older drivers. Result of epidemiological and experimental on-road studies in france
2015
TRANSED 2015 - 14th International Conference on Mobility and Transport for Elderly and Disabled Persons, LISBONNE, PORTUGAL, 28-/07/2015 - 31/07/2015; Most older drivers are able to efficiently self-regulate their own driving practices, that means reducing driving exposure and avoiding the most challenging driving conditions such as driving at night or in poor weather or at complex intersections. We hypothesized that this self-regulation might exist only if older drivers have accurate insight into their own age-related functional and cognitive decline. This study aims to evaluate how well self-estimation of cognitive ability of older corresponds to their actual driving performance, as asses…
Thermal Engine and Climate Change Challenge
2021
Thermal engines have dominated sectors of economy, and particularly transportation. Their current development and state of the art are the results of XXth century priorities related to economy and environment. In the future, thermal engines will face the challenge of emerging technologies in the frame of sustainable mobility and development. After an analysis of functioning principles and perspectives of development, particularly of combustion engines, thermal engines are compared to other realistic scenarios for transports applications in well-to-wheel and life cycle analysis.
Osteonecrosis of jaw beyond antiresorptive (bone-targeted) agents: new horizons in oncology
2016
Introduction: Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) is a clinically important, potentially painful and debilitating condition, which can affect the quality of life of cancer patients. Since 2003, ONJ appeared as a Bisphosphonate(BP)-related class effect, and the term Bisphosphonate-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (BRONJ) was widespread. Areas Covered: Under discussion in this review is the fact that ONJ cases have been reported after treatment including antiangiogenic agents and other “targeted therapy”, with and without BPs. Consequently, the comprehensive term Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ) has been introduced. The clinical aspects and the prognosis of ONJ associated with t…

Under actual conditions of agroecosystems and agrocoenosis of the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine, the use of neonicotinoids and synthetic pyrethroid insecticides in apple orchards pose no hazard to terrestrial ecosystems and human health in terms of nutrition hygiene and sanitary soil protection, provided that conventional technolo- gies as well as agrotechnical and hygienic regulations apply.
