Sezione monografica. La cooperazione internazionale allo sviluppo. Costruire sull’esperienza
2018
Valutazione formativa e didattica a distanza all’Università
2021
I dati raccolti …
Refining distraction potential testing guidelines by considering differences in glancing behavior
2021
Driver distraction is a recognized cause of traffic accidents. Although the well-known guidelines for measuring distraction of secondary in-car tasks were published by the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in 2013, studies have raised concerns on the accuracy of the method defined in the guidelines, namely criticizing them for basing the diversity of the driver sample on driver age, and for inconsistent between-group results. In fact, it was recently discovered that the NHTSA driving simulator test is susceptible to rather fortuitous results when the participant sample is randomized. This suggests that the results of said test are highly dependent on the s…
Neuropsychological rehabilitation in children with central nervous system tumors and irradiated leukemias
2012
Ecological risk assessment of pesticides in the Mijares River (eastern Spain) impacted by citrus production using wide-scope screening and target qua…
2021
The widespread use of pesticides, especially in agricultural areas, makes necessary to control their presence in surrounding surface waters. The current study was designed to investigate the occurrence and ecological risks of pesticides and their transformation products in a Mediterranean river basin impacted by citrus agricultural production. Nineteen sites were monitored in three campaigns distributed over three different seasons. After a qualitative screening, 24 compounds was selected for subsequent quantitative analysis. As expected, the lower section of the river was most contaminated, with total concentration >5 µg/L in two sites near to the discharge area of wastewater treatment pla…
Ecological and economic indicators for the evaluation of almond (Prunus dulcis l.) orchard renewal in sicily
2020
Globally, almond production is experiencing a growing trend thanks to a strong interest in the health, gastronomic, and industrial properties that are linked to the fruits and their derivatives. After a constant and marked decline in the second half of the last century, the Mediterranean Basin is thoroughly reassessing this crop, which provides significant results with a modern orchard management. The opportunity determined by the transition from traditional to modern systems have increased the interest in evaluating the different environmental impacts of the two cultivation models that still coexist today. In this work, through the application of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and an econ…
Complex efficiency of sports facilities Multicriteria and financial analysis for swimming pools
2015
The multicriteria analysis aimed at verifying the complex efficiency of investment projects must necessarily take place even in a historical moment in which the evaluation criteria are primarily of a financial nature. Especially in the field of public works and those with civil purpose, the preservation of the social and environmental profiles remains essential. It is widespread in the bibliography of the 80s and 90s the presence of tools and methods to compare and prioritize analysis profiles resulting from conflicting interests. Combined use of multicriteria techniques (MAUT) and typically entrepreneurial approaches (DCF) can help to better interpret the phenomena under study and to prepa…
Measuring the Economic, Environmental, and Social Sustainability of Short Food Supply Chains
2019
The production and distribution of food are among the hot topics debated in the context of sustainable development. Short food supply chains (SFSCs) are now widely believed to be more sustainable in comparison to mass food delivery systems. To date, very little quantitative evidence exists on the impacts of various types of food supply chains. Using a cross-sectional quantitative approach, this study assesses the sustainability of distribution channels in short and long food supply chains based on 208 food producers across seven countries: France, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam. Ten distribution channel types are used in this study. To provide a comprehensiv…
Dynamic Sustainability Assessment Tool: Case Study of Green Biorefineries in Danish Agriculture
2020
In this work, a novel, dynamic sustainability assessment tool is presented and validated in a case study. This tool combines two methods&mdash
Ecotoxicological assessment of mineralized stratum water as an environmentally friendly substitute for agrochemicals
2022
Received: May 2nd, 2022 ; Accepted: July 17th, 2022 ; Published: July 28th, 2022 ; Correspondence: maryna.galytska@pdaa.edu.ua; akalinichenko@uni.opole.pl As a result of military operations on the territory of Ukraine, sown areas are reduced, the cost of plant protection products and fertilizers increases which emphasizes the problem of obtaining maximum yields from a smaller area of farmland. Given that a shortage of food grains can cause a global food crisis, research on the use of MSW as an environmentally friendly substitute for agrochemicals is relevant today. The aim of the research was to assess the ecotoxicological properties of MSW as an environmentally friendly substitute for synt…
