Dimensioni di attaccamento e formazione delle visioni del mondo e delle ideologie

2013

The aim of this study was to investigate the role of attachment dimensions in framing worldviews and socio-political attitudes. A study on 178 Italian university students in Palermo was conducted. A causal model is tested where social conformity, toughmindedness, and insecure attachment dimensions were considered antecedents, and right-wing authoritarianism and social dominance orientation were the dependent variables. The structural equation modeling showed a good fit. The model evidenced the mediation role of worldviews in the relation between social conformity, toughmindedness, attachments, and socio-political attitudes. The avoidance attachment predicted world as competitive jungle, the…

Neurosciences and attachment theory: A brief review

2017

The attachment theory was proposed and elaborated by John Bowlby. Over the last ten years the attachment theory has attracted considerable interest in the field of mental health as it emphasizes how relationships that are established in the earliest stages of development have an impact on man in an indefinable and lifelong manner.

Maternal attachment style and adolescents' self-esteem

2009

Objectives: the study is aimed to verify the incidence of maternal relationship styles on adolescents’ self-esteem and their predisposition towards anxiety. Methods Participants: 250 mother-son/daughter couples. Adolescents aged between 14 and 18 years. Measurements: a brief form of Bracken’s Self-Concept Scale (Manna, Mirisola, Boca, 2005); Endler Multidimensional Anxiety Scales (Endler, Edwards, Vitelli, 1996); Attachment Style Questionnaire (Feeney, Noller, Hanrahan, 1996). Procedure: Questionnaires were collectively administered to adolescents during school lessons. Mothers filled out the Attachment Style Questionnaire individually. Results: Multivariate analysis were performed to verif…

The mediating role of vulnerability factors in the association between attachment and internalizing/externalizing problems

2015

Recent research indicates that secure attachment is a protective factor against the development of internalizing / externalizing behavioral problems (Laible et al., 2000), while the role of insecure attachment is more controversial, raising the question of potential mediating variables (Brumariu & Kerns, 2010). In literature it emerges how Blatt’s two-configurational model (self-definition and relatedness) correlates on the one hand with the attachment (Luyten & Blatt, 2011; Mikulincer & Shaver, 2007), and on the other with the internalizing / externalizing spectrum (e.g. Campos, Besser, Morgado, & Blatt, 2014). This research has explored the mediation effects of relatedness (dependency) an…

Psicobiologia dell'attaccamento

2008

In this work, the emotional and cerebral development of the individual is treated as a complex process, within which genetic and experiential factors interact; equal focus is given to these factors as is through the interactions of both that the human brain achieves full maturity. The recent literature on neuroscientific findings has allowed to understand further which are the mechanisms that play the most important role in the human brain. In particular, this recent work has pointed out the importance of precocious experiences of emotional syntonization between the baby and its development partners; the quality of the experiences that such partners will be able to provide will configure no…

Il legame di attaccamento ai genitori e ai pari come predittore dell’autostima e dell’ego-resiliency.

2017

The aim of this study was to analyse the relationship between the quality of attachment relationships with parents and peers on the one hand, and ego-resiliency and self- esteem on the other hand. The present research was conducted with a group of 218 students (male = 101) aged from 11 to 19 years (M = 14.43, DS = 2.60). The results emphasize that (a) self-esteem is positively associated only with security of attachment to the mother, (b) ego-resil- iency is positively associated with security of attachment both to mother and peers, and (c) boys seem to have higher levels of self-esteem and ego-resiliency than girls.

Mechanical Characterization of Polysaccharide/polyaminoacid Hydrogels as Potential Scaffolds for Tissue Regeneration

2011

The mechanical properties of hydrogel scaffolds based on hyaluronic acid (HA) that were chemically crosslinked with α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)(2-aminoethylcarbamate)-D,L-aspartamide (PHEA-EDA) were investigated. Variation of these properties as a function of three different PHEA-EDA amounts used to crosslink HA has been related to the reaction efficiency evaluated using a colorimetric assay. Moreover, the amount of unreacted amino groups that was still present in the hydrogels was related to the attachment behavior of human dermal fibroblasts to the hydrogel surface. The mechanical data and biological results suggest the suitability of the investigated hydrogels as scaffolds for the regener…

The moderating effect of attachment styles on the relationships between maltreatment experiences and internalizing and externalizing problems among a…

2020

Multiple studies have documented the relationship between child maltreatment and internalizing and externalizing problems. Evidence suggests that the link between child maltreatment and these psychopathological outcomes may be moderated by various factors. Attachment styles may be one such moderating factor in this relationship. This study seeks to explore whether different attachment style profiles are associated with different forms of maltreatment as well as internalizing and externalizing symptoms, and whether attachment styles may moderate the link between different forms of maltreatment and internalizing and externalizing problems. For this purpose, 387 students from Italian public hi…
