Abstract Mercury is gaining prominence as a proxy for large igneous province (LIP) volcanism in the sedimentary record. Despite temporal overlap between some mass extinctions and LIPs, the precise timing of magmatism relative to major ecological and environmental change is difficult to untangle, especially in marine settings. Changes in the relative contents of Hg in sedimentary rocks through time, or ‘Hg anomalies’, can help resolve the timing of LIP activity and marine extinctions. Korelācija starp acu dominanci un ķermeņa stājas līdzsvaru

Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 34 lapaspusēm, tas satur 21 zīmējumus, 21 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis ir novērtēt sensorialās un motorās dominances ietekmi uz ķermeņa līdzsvaru statiskos apstākļos. Salīdzinot abu atvērto acu testus ar aiztaisīto acu testiem var redzēt stipru binokulārās redzes ietekmi uz ķermeņa līdzsvaru. Turpretī nav novērota statistiska atšķirība starp atvērtas dominantās acs ietekmi un atvērtas nedominantās acs ietekmi. Visiem pētījumu dalībniekiem atvērta dominantā acs neuzrādīja lielāku ietekmi uz līdzsvara balansu kā nedominantā acs. Noziedzīgi iegūtu līdzekļu legalizācijas novēršana un terorisma finansēšanas joma ir aktuāla gan starptautiskā līmenī, gan Latvijā, gan Eiropas Savienībā, jo pieaugot globalizācijai pieaug arī iespējas līdzekļiem brīvi pārvietoties globālās finanšu sistēmas ietvaros. Trīsdesmit gadu laikā tā ir ievērojami attīstījusies un paplašinājusies. Vieni no šīs jomas atbildīgajiem subjektiem ir arī neatkarīgo juridisko profesiju pārstāvji, lai arī primāri tas ir attiecināts uz kredītiestādēm un finanšu institūcijām. We are experiencing an abundance of Internet-of-Things (IoT) middleware solutions that provide connectivity for sensors and actuators to the Internet. To gain a widespread adoption, these middleware solutions, referred to as platforms, have to meet the expectations of different players in the IoT ecosystem, including device providers, application developers, and end-users, among others. In this article, we evaluate a representative sample of these platforms, both proprietary and open-source, on the basis of their ability to meet the expectations of different IoT users. Plant hunting: exploring the behaviour of amateur botanists in the field

We asked what are the behavioural and logistic preferences of professional and amateur botanists when exploring flora in the field. We extracted temporal and spatial data on vas- cular plant species occurrences from three datasets of Sicilian flora: a subset of iNaturalist, a dataset collected by a Facebook group focused on the flora of Sicily and a subset of the professional database European Vegetation Archive. Permian-Cenozoic deep-water carbonate rocks of the Southern Tethyan Domain. The case of Central Sicily

We present an integrated stratigraphy of the outcropping and buried Permian-Cenozoic deep-water carbonate successions, forming some of the tectonic units mostly buried beneath the Late Neogene sedimentary cover in the fold and thrust belt of Central Sicily. Three main successions, pertaining to the well known Lercara, Imerese and Sicanian domains, have been reconstructed on the basis of a detailed facies analysis, seismostratigraphic interpretation, bio -stratigraphy (mostly based on palynological data) and comparison between outcropping and subsurface deep-water sediments.
