Purpose: Assess and describe the physical demands and changes in subjective wellbeing of recruits completing the 12 week Australian Army Basic Military Training (BMT) course. Methods: Thirty-five recruits (24.8 ± 6.8 y; 177.4 ± 10.1 cm, 75.6 ± 14.7 kg) consented to daily activity monitoring and weekly measures of subjective wellbeing (Multi-component Training Distress Scale, MTDS). Hypsipyrgias joseliae sp. n. (Heteroptera: Tingidae: Tinginae) from New Guinea is described, illustrated and compared with its two relatives, namely H. telamonides Kirkaldy, 1908 from Australia, and H. euphues Drake and Ruhoff, 1962 from Lord Howe Island. Key to species of the genus Hypsipyrgias is also provided. Two genera very closely related to Hypsipyrgias Kirkaldy, 1908, namely Hypsotingis Drake, 1960 and Diplocysta Horváth, 1925 are re-diagnosed. Diplocysta globuliformis Hacker, 1928, D. papuana Drake, 1960, D. rustica, Drake, 1960 and D. thaleia Drake and Ruhoff, 1965 are transferred from Diplocysta to Hypsotingis.

Little research, however, has considered whether similar effects are present for variables such as hope and subjective well‐being. Skeletal maturity can be used as a biological indicator of the tempo of growth in children and adolescents. We present a description of skeletal maturity from a cohort of white Australian children and describe variation in skeletal maturity based on child age. Participants (n = 71; age 10.5-13.9 years) were recruited from the 'Healthy, Active Preschool & Primary Years (HAPPY)' study. Left hand-wrist radiographs were used to determine skeletal maturity using the Tanner-Whitehouse III (TW3) RUS technique.
