Statin therapy may lower plasma coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) concentrations, but the evidence as to the significance of this effect is unclear. We assessed the impact of statin therapy on plasma CoQ10 concentrations through the meta-analysis of available RCTs. The literature search included selected databases up to April 30, 2015. The meta-analysis was performed using either a fixed-effects or random-effect model according to I(2) statistic. Effect sizes were expressed as weighted mean difference (WMD) and 95% confidence interval (CI). The authors present their experience of treating anti-cancer drug extravasation by means of a composite surgical technique that consists of infiltration with physiological solution and hyaluronidase and subsequent manual aspiration of solutes alternated with profuse irrigation of the infiltrated area. In the immediate post-op we carry out a medical therapy that consists of calciparine and topic antibiotic and/or steroid creams. Since the year 2000 this technique has been used on 25 patients. Dissection after balloon angioplasty of coronary arteries may give rise to an unfavourable early outcome. Compared with coronary angiography, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) allows more detailed characterisation of dissections. We investigated the incidence and type of dissections after balloon angioplasty in calcified coronary lesions. IVUS was performed in 43 patients with 48 lesions before and after percutaneous balloon angioplasty. Significant calcification was defined as an arc of more than 90 degrees with typical acoustic shadowing. Pain, edema, increased skin temperature, reddening and trophic changes characterize complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). Recently, we have been able to show facilitated neurogenic inflammation on the affected limb. In the current study unaffected limbs were examined after resolution of the CRPS symptoms to assess possible generalized changes predisposing to CRPS. In 12 patients and in 12 healthy volunteers dermal microdialysis in combination with electrical C-fiber stimulation was employed to induce neuropeptide release. Lietotne tika izstrādāta divu cilvēku grupā, izmantojot „Agile” metoloģiju. Šajā darbā tiek aprakstīts Ilmāra Svilsta projekta darba gaita un sasniegtie rezultāti. Lietotnes mērķis ir atvieglot un padarīt ceļojumu, pārgājienu vai vienkārši ikdienas pastaigu interesantāku un neaizmirstamāku. Lietotne attēlo lietotāja izveidotos punktus uz kartes, kā arī attēlo lietotāja nostaigāto ceļu. Darbā aprakstīti ainavas pārmaiņu virzītājspēki un pieejamība kā viens no galvenajiem ainavas pārmaiņu virzītājspēkiem. Tajā sniegts ieskats par dzelzceļu vēsturi Latvijā, aprakstīta Rīgas – Ērgļu dzelzceļa līnijas izveide un nozīme. Ar izveidoto karšu palīdzību veikta ainavas pārmaiņu analīze Suntažu – Ērgļu posmā. Tiek aplūkota arī mūsdienu ainava Suntažu – Ērgļu posmā.
