PIP-Space Valued Reproducing Pairs of Measurable Functions

We analyze the notion of reproducing pairs of weakly measurable functions, a generalization of continuous frames. The aim is to represent elements of an abstract space Y as superpositions of weakly measurable functions belonging to a space Z : = Z ( X , μ ), where ( X , μ ) is a measure space. Three cases are envisaged, with increasing generality: (i) Y and Z are both Hilbert spaces; (ii) Y is a Hilbert space, but Z is a pip-space; (iii) Y and Z are both pip-spaces. It is shown, in particular, that the requirement that a pair of measurable functions be reproducing strongly constrains the structure of the initial space Y. Examples are presented for each case.
Tripled Fixed Point Results for T-Contractions on Abstract Metric Spaces

In this paper we introduce the notion of T-contraction for tripled fi xed points in abstract metric spaces and obtain some tripled fi xed point theorems which extend and generalize well-known comparable results in the literature. To support our results, we present an example and an application to integral equations.

AbstractRecognizing users’ daily life activities without disrupting their lifestyle is a key functionality to enable a broad variety of advanced services for a Smart City, from energy-efficient management of urban spaces to mobility optimization. In this paper, we propose a novel method for human activity recognition from a collection of outdoor mobility traces acquired through wearable devices. Extended-order algebras as a generalization of posets

Motivated by the recent study of several researchers on extended-order algebras, introduced by C. Guido and P. Toto as a possible common framework for the majority of algebraic structures used in many-valued mathematics, the paper focuses on the properties of homomorphisms of the new structures, considering extended-order algebras as a generalization of partially ordered sets. The manuscript also introduces the notion of extended-relation algebra providing a new framework for developing the theory of rough sets.
On the accurate determination of nonisolated solutions of nonlinear equations

A simple but efficient method to obtain accurate solutions of a system of nonlinear equations with a singular Jacobian at the solution is presented. This is achieved by enlarging the system to a higher dimensional one whose solution in question is isolated. Thus it can be computed e. g. by Newton's method, which is locally at least quadratically convergent and selfcorrecting, so that high accuracy is attainable.

Abstract In this chapter we will give short review of computer modelling/simulations of DNA manipulation as a complementary tool to current single molecule manipulation experiments in order to follow the impact on molecular structure during the manipulation experiments. As an example we report molecular dynamics simulations of a 22 base-pair DNA fragment in an explicit water solution with counter-ions to mimic a torsionally unconstrained single-molecule stretching experiment. Optimizing auditory images and distance metrics for self‐organizing timbre maps*

Abstract The effect of using different auditory images and distance metrics on the final configuration of a self‐organized timbre map is examined by comparing distance matrices, obtained from simulations, with a similarity rating matrix, obtained using the same set of stimuli as in the simulations. Gradient images, which are intended to represent idealizations of physiological gradient maps in the auditory pathway, are constructed. The optimal auditory image and distance metric, with respect to the similarity rating data, are searched using the gradient method.
