Porcine Model for Gluteal Artery Perforator Flap: Anatomy and Technique

2018

Although flap anatomy is well studied on cadavers and microsurgical techniques are well practiced on rats, still there are few training models for learning the techniques of perforator flap harvesting. The cadaver has no bloodstream, so accuracy of dissection cannot be evaluated and flap viability cannot be verified. Training on humans carries a high risk of flap damage. A living model for perforator flap harvest is needed to learn the technique before starting with its clinical application.

Intellectual disabilitiy in developmental age

2015

Intellectual disability (ID) is a neurodevelopmental dis- order characterized by deficits in intellectual and adap- tive functioning that present before 18 years of age [1]. ID is heterogeneous in etiology and encompasses a broad spectrum of functioning, disability, needs and strengths. Originally formulated in strictly psychometric terms as performance greater than 2.5 SDs below the mean on intelligence testing, the conceptualisation of ID has been extended to include defects in adaptive beha- viours [2]. The term-global developmental delay-(GDD) is usually used to describe children younger than 5-years of age who fail to meet expected developmental milestones in multiple areas of intellec…

A visualization technique for accessing solution pool in interactive methods of multiobjective optimization

2015

<pre>Interactive methods of <span>multiobjective</span> optimization repetitively derive <span>Pareto</span> optimal solutions based on decision maker's preference information and present the obtained solutions for his/her consideration. Some interactive methods save the obtained solutions into a solution pool and, at each iteration, allow the decision maker considering any of solutions obtained earlier. This feature contributes to the flexibility of exploring the <span>Pareto</span> optimal set and learning about the optimization problem. However, in the case of many objective functions, the accumulation of derived solutions makes accessing the sol…

Noosfera jako podstawa systemu kształcenia zawodowego przyszłych nauczycieli na Ukrainie i w Polsce w społeczeństwie informacyjnym

2017

W artykule analizuje się rozwój systemu kształcenia zawodowego przyszłych nauczycieli w obrębie noosferogenezy. Uzasadniono znaczenie orientacji noosferycznej systemu kształcenia zawodowego polegającej na formowaniu świadomości noosferycznej opartej na światopoglądzie noosferycznym. Złożona i wymagająca rola zawodu nauczycielskiego wymaga specyficznych umiejętności i predyspozycji, jakie musi posiadać współczesny nauczyciel, aby móc pracować w odpowiedzialny i godny sposób

Interno, Esterno, Frontiera. Note sulla Topologia dei Domini Nozionali

2014

This article examines a fundamental metalinguistic construction of the theory of enunciative operations: the Notional Domain. In particular, we try to explain some particular topological concepts on which this construction is based and we try to show the key role they play in the description of some basic linguistic operations: "fragmentation" and "construction of existence"

Explaining Causes Behind SQL Query Formulation Errors

2020

This Full Research Paper presents the most prominent query formulation errors in Structured Query Language (SQL), and maps these errors to their cognitive explanations. Understanding query formulation errors is a key to teaching SQL. more effectively. However, studies on what kind of errors novices struggle with are relatively scarce when compared to, for example, programming languages. Although committing errors is a crucial part in learning, some errors are relatively easy to fix, and their commonness is not necessarily an indication of their difficulty. Other errors, however, halt the learning process, and are never fixed by the query writer. Using a previously established error taxonomy…

Modeling epidemics through ladder operators

2020

Highlights • We propose an operatorial model to describe epidemics. • The model describes well the asymptotic numbers of the epidemics. • Ladder operators are used to model exchanges between the “actors” of the system.

Eye-Movement Study of Mechanics Problem Solving Using Multimodal Options

2020

We used an eye-tracking method to investigate students’ approaches to solving a physics task using various representations. Eight upper-secondary school students from Finland took part in the study. We found that students who preferred either the text or graph representations watched the options differently, but they used both representations to be sure of their solution. Transitions between text and graph alternatives were different for students preferring either text or graph representations. Interviews revealed typical misconceptions about the concept of force. Implications for physics instruction are presented. peerReviewed
