L'optimisation fusion - confusion : une synthèse privilégiée du droit et du chiffre

2010

It is not always easy to dissociate, in the settlement problems, tax and accounting, the main thing and the ac cessory. Generally, mergers are in this case, simplified mergers and universal transmissions, too. When professionals want, in this field, to optimize integrated, legal choices - tax - accounting, it is often obliged to treat the problem, without assistanc e. This autonomy look that this subject is at the crossroads of several disciplines and it is necessary to compose, without really opposing them. The field of mergers and confusion is a good synthesis of the link Law - management. The company which wishes to absorb its 100 % subsidiary can choose between simplified fusion and dis…

Immunization of trout (Salmo trutta) against freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera) by duck mussel (Anodonta anatina) glochidia

2013

Freshwater pearl mussel Margaritifera margaritifera is endangered throughout its range of distribution in Europe. In some rivers M. margaritifera may co-occur with the duck mussel Anodonta anatina. Brown trout Salmo trutta serves as suitable fish host for both mussel species. Thus it is possible that exposure of brown trout to A. anatina glochidia might increase resistance of fish against M. margaritifera glochidia. The aim was to test this ‘cross immunity hypothesis’. Brown trout were immunized by duck mussel (Anodonta anatina) glochidia in late May. Then brown trout were challenged by pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera) glochidia in late August after the A. anatina glochidia were d…

Implementation of A Year-Long Antimicrobial Stewardship Program in A 227-Bed Community Hospital in Southern Italy

2023

Background: Healthcare-Acquired Infections (HAIs) are serious healthcare complications affecting hospital stay, in-hospital mortality, and costs. Root cause analysis has identified the inappropriate use of antibiotics as the main causative factor in the expansion of multi-drug-resistant organisms (MDRO) in our hospital. An Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) program was implemented to optimize antibiotic use, limit the development of resistance, improve therapeutic efficacy and clinical outcomes, and reduce costs. Methods: The stewardship strategies were: antimicrobial oversight on “critical” antibiotics; the development of hospital guidelines on antibiotic selection with the production of a co…

Krūšu rajonā novietoto sensoru pielietojums slimnīcā iegūto izgulējumu novēršanas pasākumos

2020

Health care associated pneumonia: a new clinical entity.

2008

Background: Traditionally, pneumonia has been classified as either community- or hospital-acquired. Although only limited data are available, health care–associated pneumonia has been recently proposed as a new category of respiratory infection. “Health care– associated pneumonia” refers to pneumonia in patients who have recently been hospitalized, had hemodialysis, or received intravenous chemotherapy or reside in a nursing home or long-term care facility. Objective: To ascertain the epidemiology and outcome of community-acquired, health care–associated, and hospital-acquired pneumonia in adults hospitalized in internal medicine wards. Design: Multicenter, prospective observational study. …

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF DILUTE SOLID-LIQUID SUSPENSION IN AN UNBAFFLED STIRRED VESSELS BY A NOVEL PULSED LASER BASED IMAGE ANALYSIS TECHNIQUE

2009

The availability of experimental information on solid distribution inside stirred tanks is a topic of great importance in several industrial applications. The measurement of solid particle distribution in turbulent multiphase flow is not simple and the development of suitable measurement techniques is still in progress. In this work a novel non-intrusive technique for measuring particle concentration fields in solid-liquid systems is employed. The technique makes use of a laser sheet, a high sensitivity digital camera for image acquisition and a Matlab procedure for post-processing the acquired images. Experimental data are here obtained for the case of an unbaffled stirred tank. Stable tor…

Editorial: Understanding Gamma Delta T Cell Multifunctionality - Towards Immunotherapeutic Applications.

2020

Introduction: gd T cells have been characterized by the expression of a gd T cell receptor (TCR).When the gd TCR and the corresponding ab TCR were first discovered it was assumed that the corresponding cell types were likely to be functionally very similar. However, some 30 years later, we have realized that they are not. Unlike ab T cells, gd T cells (i) sense target antigens independent of MHC molecules; (ii) display NK-cell like innate reactivities, including killing of infected cells as well as microbes; (iii) are able to take up large particulates, including bacteria, and (iv) can act as professional antigen presenting cells. The “stress sensing” abilities of gd T cells have led to a g…

Metabolism via arginase or nitric oxide synthase: two competing arginine pathways in macrophages

2014

Macrophages play a major role in the immune system, both as antimicrobial effector cells and as immunoregulatory cells, which induce, suppress or modulate adaptive immune responses. These key aspects of macrophage biology are fundamentally driven by the phenotype of macrophage arginine metabolism that is prevalent in an evolving or ongoing immune response. M1 macrophages express the enzyme nitric oxide synthase (NOS), which metabolizes arginine to nitric oxide (NO) and citrulline. NO can be metabolized to further downstream reactive nitrogen species, while citrulline might be reused for efficient NO synthesis via the citrulline-NO cycle. M2 macrophages are characterized by expression of the…

Heat-Shock Proteins in Autoimmunity

2013

Heat shock proteins (HSPs), also known as “stress proteins,” are among the highly conserved and immunogenic proteins shared among diverse groups of microbial agents and mammals [1]. Heat and other types of stressful stimuli can increase the cellular expression of HSPs. These proteins have been categorized into different families according to their molecular mass, for example, HSP110, HSP90, HSP70, HSP60, HSP40, HSP20-30, and HSP10 [1–3]. For uniformity, guidelines for the nomenclature of various human HSP families have been proposed [4]. Under physiological conditions, the ubiquitously distributed HSPs maintain the integrity and function of other cellular proteins in stressful conditions. H…
