Optimal Volume for Concert Halls Based on Ando’s Subjective Preference and Barron Revised Theories

[EN] The Ando-Beranek s model, a linear version of Ando s subjective preference theory, obtained by the authors in a recent work, was combined with Barron revised theory. An optimal volume region for each reverberation time was obtained for classical music in symphony orchestra concert halls. The obtained relation was tested with good agreement with the top rated halls reported by Beranek and other halls with reported anomalies.

Abstract One of the advantages of a source method over observer method in blur perception measurements is better control of a stimulus blur level, which is achieved with computerised image processing unlike the observer method that requires optical defocusing of the observer. Biological invasions, specifically human-induced dispersals, are one of the major threats to our biodiversity and are predicted to increase. Invasive pests provide an opportunity to study whether adaptation to human-induced environments could promote invasions to other human-induced environments. One major anthropogenic selection pressure is created by pesticides, and pests can be exposed to various pesticides in their native, as well as introduced, ranges. Este trabajo de Tesis Doctoral se centra en la síntesis y caracterización de nuevos materiales moleculares conmutables basados en FeII, los cuales presentan el fenómeno de transición de espín (spin crossover, SCO). El objetivo principal de esta tesis doctoral ha sido el diseño y estudio de nuevos materiales multifuncionales de FeII que combinan el comportamiento SCO con otra propiedad físico-química de interés.
