Re_Power station. Reuse of Augusta Power Station
2016
<title>Revenue-maximization-based adaptive WFQ</title>
2002
In the future Internet, di erent applications such as Voice over IP (VoIP) and Video-on-Demand (VoD) arise with di erent Quality of Service (QoS) parameters including e.g. guaranteed bandwidth, delay jitter, and latency. Different kinds of service classes (e.g. gold, silver, bronze) arise. The customers of di erent classes pay di erent prices to the service provider, who must share resources in a plausible way. In a router, packets are queued using a multi-queue system, where each queue corresponds to one service class. In this paper, an adaptive Weighted Fair Queue based algorithm for traAEc allocation is presented and studied. The weights in gradient type WFQ algorithm are adapted using r…
Distributed routing and channel allocation in multi-channel multi-hop ad hoc networks
2013
In this paper, we propose a novel routing protocol which is integrated with channel assignment for multi-channel multi-hop wireless ad hoc networks. In such a network, each node is equipped with three transceivers. One is always tuned on a control channel which is responsible for control and broadcast messages, and the other two perform as transmitter and receiver respectively for traffic flows on different data channels. The routing protocol works in an on-demand manner, and the proposed routing discovery process selects a path that potentially traverses nodes with lighter traffic load and lower number of carried flows. With a given number of non-overlapping channels, the optimal solution …
QoS Based Routing Protocol for Intra-Mesh Infrastructure Communications
2015
International audience; Mesh Networks (WMNs) have been considered as a promising alternative to conventional wired networks, thanks to its flexibility and easy deployment. Thus, to ensure a satisfying level of QoS guarantees for real-time and streaming applications such as Voice over IP (VoIP) and Video on Demand (VoD), we propose a novel QoS based routing protocol for wireless mesh environments, called Hybrid QoS Mesh Routing (HQMR), jointly with a clustering algorithm to enhance scalability issues within the mesh infrastructure. HQMR is composed of two routing sub-protocols: a reactive routing sub-protocol for intra-infrastructure communications and a proactive QoS based multi-tree routin…
A secure intersection-based routing protocol for data collection in urban vehicular networks
2014
Data routing has gained great intention since the appearance of Vehicular Networks (VANETs). However, in the presence of attackers, reliable and trustworthy operations in such networks become impossible without securing routing protocols. In this paper, we target to study and design a secure routing protocol S-GyTAR for vehicular environments. Several kinds of routing techniques are proposed in the literature and could be classified into topology-based or position-based strategies. Position-based is the most investigated strategy in vehicular networks due to the unique characteristics of such networks. For this reason, this work is based on the well-known intersection-based routing protocol…
Assisted Self-Adapted Testing: A Comparative Study
2004
Abstract: A new type of self-adapted test (S-AT), called Assisted Self-Adapted Test (AS-AT), is presented. It differs from an ordinary S-AT in that prior to selecting the difficulty category, the computer advises examinees on their best difficulty category choice, based on their previous performance. Three tests (computerized adaptive test, AS-AT, and S-AT) were compared regarding both their psychometric (precision and efficiency) and psychological (anxiety) characteristics. Tests were applied in an actual assessment situation, in which test scores determined 20% of term grades. A sample of 173 high school students participated. Neither differences in posttest anxiety nor ability were obta…
An adaptive multimeme algorithm for designing HIV multidrug therapies.
2007
This paper proposes a period representation for modeling the multidrug HIV therapies and an Adaptive Multimeme Algorithm (AMmA) for designing the optimal therapy. The period representation offers benefits in terms of flexibility and reduction in dimensionality compared to the binary representation. The AMmA is a memetic algorithm which employs a list of three local searchers adaptively activated by an evolutionary framework. These local searchers, having different features according to the exploration logic and the pivot rule, have the role of exploring the decision space from different and complementary perspectives and, thus, assisting the standard evolutionary operators in the optimizati…
Adaptive control of a class of strict-feedback time-varying nonlinear systems with unknown control coefficients
2018
Abstract In this paper, robust adaptive control of a class of strict-feedback nonlinear systems with unknown control directions is investigated. A novel Nussbaum-type function is developed and a key theorem is drawn which involves quantifying the addition of multiple Nussbaum functions with different control directions in a single inequality. Global stability of the closed-loop system and asymptotic stabilization of system output are proved. A simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
Adaptive Control Design for Underactuated Cranes With Guaranteed Transient Performance: Theoretical Design and Experimental Verification
2022
For antiswing control of underactuated cranes, how to guarantee the converging speed of cranes through control design is essential but still remains unsolved. In this paper, the adaptive antiswing control for underactuated gantry cranes with guaranteed transient performance under unmodeled dynamics and external disturbances is investigated. To sovle this problem, a set of filters are proposed to make the backstepping technique applicable for the control of crane systems. Then through variable transformation the position error and swing angel could be guaranteed converging to the origin with a given exponential speed. Hardware experiments are conducted to show that the proposed scheme achiev…
