Background: Evidence associating exposure to water disinfection by-products with reduced birth weight and altered duration of gestation remains inconclusive. Objective: We assessed exposure to trihalomethanes (THMs) during pregnancy through different water uses and evaluated the association with birth weight, small for gestational age (SGA), low birth weight (LBW), and preterm delivery. Hipoplasia pulmonar en el adulto: descripción, patogenia y revisión

La hipoplasia pulmonar es una entidad muy poco frecuente caracterizada por una detención en el desarrollo pulmonar, que produce que estos órganos se encuentren poco desarrollados. Habitualmente esta enfermedad es diagnosticada en la infancia y son muy pocos los casos que pasan desapercibidos detectándose en la edad adulta (>18 años). ResumenEl objetivo del presente estudio fue analizar el impacto percibido por parte de los alumnos como resultado de su participación en el programa de la Universidad de la Experiencia de la Universidad de La Rioja. La muestra estuvo formada por 83 alumnos de dicho programa. Al grupo de estudiantes se les aplicó un cuestionario diseñado ad hoc para evaluar potenciales resultados a diferentes niveles: general, educativo, social, afectivo, cognitivo, físico y afectividad negativa. Background: A growing body of research suggests that prenatal exposure to air pollution may be harmful to fetal development. We assessed the association between exposure to air pollution during pregnancy and anthropometric measures at birth in four areas within the Spanish Children’s Health and Environment (INMA) mother and child cohort study. Altered cerebral blood flow velocity features in fibromyalgia patients in resting-state conditions

[EN] The aim of this study is to characterize in resting-state conditions the cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFV) signals of fibromyalgia patients. The anterior and middle cerebral arteries of both hemispheres from 15 women with fibromyalgia and 15 healthy women were monitored using Transcranial Doppler (TCD) during a 5-minute eyes-closed resting period.
