In his novel entitled The Meursault Investigation (Meursault, contre-enquête) Kamel Daoud shows human weakness and anger against the religion, the same as they are depicted in Albert Camus’s works. His character, Haroun, who is a brother of the Arab killed in The Stranger by Camus, is in the quest for his identity. Being traumatized by his mother’s hold over him, he learns French in order to be able to express his disappointment over the world and his country where he feels as a stranger.

Attraverso l’esame della nozione di “artista dotto” - tracciata dallo stesso Alberti nel De pictura – si avvia un’indagine sui destinatari dei trattati albertiani relativi alle arti figurative. Infatti il lettore di Alberti non è più l’artigiano che nel manuale cerca regole operative, ma è un personaggio più colto che deve avere competenze in ambiti differenti (dal latino alla musica, dalla matematica alla retorica). These essays do not only treat Hume’s views on the topic of natural philosophy, but his views are placed into a broader context of history of philosophy and science, physics in particular. The article traces the evolution of the publishing practice in the field of translations undertaken by Alberto Mondadori after the Second World War. Through some letters of the publisher to his collaborators, the analysis highlights the nature of his choices, which were often motivated not only by the desire to publish complete works, but also by personal and political reasons, such as the desire of self‑affirmation, to introduce himself as a “new publisher in a new era”, in clear antithesis with the past.
