Tetrazine Click Chemistry for the Modification of 1-Hydroxy-1,1-methylenebisphosphonic Acids: Towards Bio-orthogonal Functionalization of Gold Nanopa…

2016

Inverse electron demand Diels-Alder (iEDDA) was evaluated for the functionalization of gold nanoparticles. The reaction was first modelled with the free coating molecule 1-hydroxy-1,1-methylenebisphosphonate bearing an alkene functionality (HMBPene). A model tetrazine 3,6-dipyridin-2-yl-1,2,4,5-tetrazine (pyTz) was used, kinetic of the reaction was calculated and coupling products were analysed by NMR and HRMS. The reaction was then transposed at the nanoparticle surface. Gold nanoparticles bearing an alkene functionality were obtained using a one-pot methodology with HMBPene and the tetrazine click chemistry was evaluated at their surface using pyTz. The successful coupling was assessed by…

Pauson–Khand reaction of fluorinated compounds

2020

The Pauson–Khand reaction (PKR) is one of the key methods for the construction of cyclopentenone derivatives, which can in turn undergo diverse chemical transformations to yield more complex biologically active molecules. Despite the increasing availability of fluorinated building blocks and methodologies to incorporate fluorine in compounds with biological interest, there have been few significant advances focused on the fluoro-Pauson–Khand reaction, both in the inter- and intramolecular versions. Furthermore, the use of vinyl fluorides as olefinic counterparts had been completely overlooked. In this review, we collect the advances both on the stoichiometric and catalytic intermolecular an…

Rhodium and palladium complexes from 1,1′ and 1,2 ferrocenylphosphine as bidentate ligands. Versatile coordination

2000

Abstract The complexation of the mixed bidentate ligands 1-diphenylphosphino-1′-diphenylthiophosphinoferrocenyl and 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocenyl with rhodium(I) and palladium(II) species yield a range of mono- and dirhodium or palladium complexes. Their interest as possible catalysts for alkene hydroformylation and alkoxycarbonylation and Heck coupling reactions has been assessed. Fe[C5Me4P(S)Ph2][C5Me4PPh2]PdCl2 and Fe[C5H2-1,2-(PPh2)2-4-tBu][C5H5]PdCl2 have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies.

Merging shuttle reactions and paired electrolysis for reversible vicinal dihalogenations

2021

Vicinal dibromides and dichlorides are important commodity chemicals and indispensable synthetic intermediates in modern chemistry that are traditionally synthesized using hazardous elemental chlorine and bromine. Meanwhile, the environmental persistence of halogenated pollutants necessitates improved approaches to accelerate their remediation. Here, we introduce an electrochemically assisted shuttle (e-shuttle) paradigm for the facile and scalable interconversion of alkenes and vicinal dihalides, a class of reactions that can be used both to synthesize useful dihalogenated molecules from simple alkenes and to recycle waste material through retro-dihalogenation. The reaction is demonstrated…

Organocatalytic synthesis of new telechelic polycarbonates and study of their chemical reactivity

2015

Abstract A two-step versatile process for telechelic polycarbonates synthesis is described. 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium-2-carboxylate (BMIM-2-CO2) was used as thermolabile precursor of N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) organocatalyst. In a first step, synthesized branched fatty diols or commercially available linear diols were reacted with an excess of dimethylcarbonate (DMC) to afford oligocarbonates with methylcarbonate end-groups. Then, the methylcarbonate groups were reacted with hydroxyl groups of 9-decen-1-ol, 4-hexyn-1-ol and 4-hydroxybenzene ethanol leading to telechelic oligomers with alkene, alkyne and phenol functionalities. Reactivity of these end-groups towards polymerization was …

Synthesis and biological evaluation of the new ring system benzo[f]pyrimido[1,2-d][1,2,3]triazolo[1,5-a][1,4]diazepine and its cycloalkane and cycloa…

2021

Derivatives of the new ring system benzo[f]pyrimido[1,2-d][1,2,3]triazolo[1,5-a][1,4]diazepinone and its cycloalkane and cycloalkene condensed analogues have been conveniently synthesized through a three-step reaction sequence. An atom-economical, one-pot, three-step cascade process engaging five reactive centers (amide, amine, carbonyl, azide, and alkyne) has been performed for the synthesis of alicyclic derivatives of quinazolinotriazolobenzodiazepine using cyclohexane, cyclohexene, and norbornene β-amino amides. The stereochemistry and relative configurations of the synthesized compounds were determined by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. The reaction was also perfor…

A density functional theory study of the chemoselectivity and regioselectivity of the domino cycloaddition reactions of nitroalkenes with substituted…

2000

The chemoselectivity and regioselectivity of the domino intermolecular [4 + 2]/[3 + 2] cycloaddition reactions of nitroalkenes with substituted alkenes, vinyl ethers as electron-rich alkenes and vinyl ketones as electron-poor alkenes, have been studied using density functional theory (DFT) methods with the B3LYP functional and the 6-31G* basis set. These domino processes comprise two consecutive cycloaddition reactions: the first one is an intermolecular [4 + 2] cycloaddition of the vinyl ether to the nitroalkene to give a nitronate intermediate, which then affords the final nitroso acetal adduct through an intermolecular [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction with the vinyl ketone. The two consecu…

SPM and TOF-SIMS investigation of the physical and chemical modification induced by tip writing of self-assembled monolayers

2003

Abstract The nanoelectrochemical modification of alkyl self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) obtained on hydrogenated silicon surfaces via radical-initiated reactions of 1-octadecene has been investigated. Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) showed that the modification of the organic layer occurs by applying either positive or negative biases to the tip at a threshold of about ±5 V. When the bias absolute value was ≤6 V, the height of the monolayer was only faintly modified, whereas a consistent increase in tip/sample friction force was observed, in agreement with the formation of hydrophilic moieties at the organic surface. In addition to the increase of friction, bias absolute values larger than …

Synthesis of plagiochiline N from santonin.

2001

This article reports the transformation of O-acetylisophotosantonin, obtained by photochemical rearrangement of santonin, into plagiochiline N, an ent-2,3-secoaromadendrane isolated from Plagiochila ovalifolia. The synthesis was carried out in a sequence involving as the key steps (a) the substitution of the lactone moiety by a gem-dimethylcyclopropane ring through a synthetic intermediate having a C(6)-C(7) double bond and (b) the ozonolysis of the C(2)-C(3) bond followed by cyclization to the dihydropyran ring characteristic of plagiochiline N. Spectroscopic data of the synthetic product fully coincided with the reported data for the natural product.
