Arkkitehti Alvar Aalto sai suunniteltavakseen Muuramen kirkon vuonna 1926.Tämä klassisistinen kirkko on pohjois-eteläsuuntaan sijoitettu yksilaivainen valkoiseksi rapattu pitkäkirkko, joka kohoaa kylätaajamassa kahden järven välisellä Muuratharjulla. Comparison of implant primary stability between maxillary edentulous ridges receiving intramembranous origin block grafts

Purpose: The purposes of the present study were: to compare the resonance frequency analysis (RFA) values of implant placed in either ramus or calvaria block grafts; and to determine if implant diameter influences RFA implant stability quotient (ISQ) value. Material and Methods: This was a retrospective study that included 16 consecutives healthy patients treated with autogenous onlay block grafts for horizontal bone reconstruction in maxilla. Ten ramus and ten calvaria block graft treated patients were selected and compared. Inuentiones and translationes of the relics are part of the hagiographic dossier of a saint and provide interesting information about his cult over the centuries. For S. Mercurius of Caesarea the original texts in Greek have been lost, but we have two collections miracles in Coptic that narrate the inuentio and translatio of his relics and there is also a medieval tradition about his translatio to Benevento (Italy). From all these texts is deduced a healing cult of S. Mercurius based on the usual topics.

This article analyzes the reception of the classical world in the Spanish nobiliary culture at the end of the 18th century. Our objective is materialized through the study of the Greco-Roman books present in the unpublished catalog of the library of José Álvarez de Toledo, 11th Marqués de villafranca. From the examination of the authors and the different editions conserved by the aristocrat, the work tries to examine the influence of the classical world and its actuality in the development of the most advanced nobiliary culture of eighteenth- century Spain.

The Serum Protein α2-HS Glycoprotein/Fetuin Inhibits Apatite Formation in Vitro and in Mineralizing Calvaria Cells

We present data suggesting a function of alpha2-HS glycoproteins/fetuins in serum and in mineralization, namely interference with calcium salt precipitation. Fetuins occur in high serum concentration during fetal life. They accumulate in bones and teeth as a major fraction of noncollagenous bone proteins. The expression pattern in fetal mice confirms that fetuin is predominantly made in the liver and is accumulated in the mineralized matrix of bones. We arrived at a hypothesis on the molecular basis of fetuin function in bones using primary rat calvaria osteoblast cultures and salt precipitation assays. The State Archive of Genoa keeps one of the few drawings related to the reconfiguration projects of the Royal Palace of Palermo in modern age. It's a pen drawing, partly in watercolor, depicting partially the front and the pavement of a long open gallery to be realized in the new eastern façade of the palace; the plan is attached to the contract, signed March 14th 1567 in Genoa, where the sculptors Giacomo Guidetti and Antonio Carabio were commissioned to supply all the necessary marbles and floor surfaces to realize the loggia.

This paper aims to analyze the characteristics of the project for the residential complex "Patrizia" in Pavia by Alvar Aalto (1966-1968). Although not realized, for political and economic reasons, the project offers an interesting example of urban planning in an “organic key”. In particular, this paper aims to contextualize the project of Aalto in the broader context of the residential building in Italy after World War II, when the problems of reconstruction and "home" are the heart of the debate on architecture.
