Research has proved that high school students have problems with producing longer statements on their own. It has in spired the article author's search for an efficient tool improving the speaking skills. The European Language Portfolio can serve as such a tool, because it may promote the speaking skills as well as improve the cultural and communicative competence.

The language of stock exchange is a terminological system based on the general language that has its own form, content, and as a medium of specialised knowledge, it is used in professional communication. Seasonal variation in diversity of marine benthic invertebrates leads to a positive species-genetic diversity correlation (SGDC)

Species-genetic diversity correlations (SGDCs) are useful indicators of processes that simultaneously affect diversity at multiple biological levels. We combined spatial and temporal sampling of 4 study sites in the Danish Isefjord-Roskilde Fjord Estuary at 4 time points over 1 yr to investigate the effect of seasonal variation on SGDCs. Species diversity was estimated as species richness from samples comprising 20752 individuals representing 51 benthic invertebrate taxa. Genetic diversity was estimated for a single focal taxon, the polychaete Pygospio elegans, as mean allelic richness at 7 microsatellite loci. Pd2Au36(SR)(24) cluster: structure studies

The location of the Pd atoms in Pd2Au36(SC2H4Ph)(24), is studied both experimentally and theoretically. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) indicates oxidized Pd atoms. Palladium K-edge extended X-ray absorption fine-structure (EXAFS) data clearly show Pd-S bonds, which is supported by far infrared spectroscopy and by comparing theoretical EXAFS spectra in R space and circular dichroism spectra of the staple, surface and core doped structures with experimental spectra.

Abstract In this study, the distributions of aluminum and gallium atoms over the tetrahedral and octahedral sites in the garnet structure were investigated in mixed Lu3Al5-xGaxO12 crystals by using 27Al and 71Ga magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and single crystal 71Ga NMR. The experimental study was supported by theoretical calculations based on density functional theory (DFT) in order to predict the trends in terms of the substitutions of Al by Ga in the mixed garnets. The NUMEN project aims at accessing experimentally driven information on Nuclear Matrix Elements (NME) involved in the half-life of the neutrinoless double beta decay (0νββ), by high-accuracy measurements of Heavy Ion (HI) induced Double Charge Exchange (DCE) reaction cross sections. In particular, the (18O,18Ne) and (20Ne,20O) reactions are used as tools for β+β+ and β−β− decays, respectively. In the experiments, performed at INFN - Laboratory Nazionali del Sud (LNS) in Catania, the beams are accelerated by the Superconducting Cyclotron (CS) and the reaction ejectiles are detected the MAGNEX magnetic spectrometer.
