Šis pētījums skar 21.gadsimta prasmju atspoguļojumu mācību grāmatās angļu valodā 11.klasē. Mācību process skolās ir organizēts saskaņā ar mācību priekšmetu standartu. Mācību grāmatas ir atslēgkomponents lielākā daļā valodas programmu. Mācību grāmatas nodrošina noderīgu resursu gan skolēniem, gan skolotājām, kā arī tās var lietot ne tikai valodu apguves procesā. Šī diplomdarba mērķis ir novērtēt divas mācību grāmatas angļu valodā: Insight Upper-Intermediate, publicēta Oxford University Press, un Wider World 4, izdota Pearson Education Limited izdevniecībās, no 21.gadsimta prasmju viedokļa ar mērķi noskaidrot, cik lielā mērā dotās mācību grāmatas atspoguļo šīs prasmes.
