Genomic characterization of the Braque Français type Pyrénées dog and relationship with other breeds
2018
The evaluation of genetic variability is a useful research tool for the correct management of selection and conservation strategies in dog breeds. In addition to pedigree genealogies, genomic data allow a deeper knowledge of the variability and genetic structure of populations. To date, many dog breeds, such as small regional breeds, still remain uncharacterized. Braque Français type Pyrénées (BRA) is a dog breed originating from a very old type of gun-dog used for pointing the location of game birds to hunters. Despite the ancient background, the knowledge about levels of genetic diversity, degree of inbreeding and population structure is scarce. This may raise concerns on the possibility …

Stabilization of unilamellar catanionic vesicles induced by β-cyclodextrins: A strategy for a tunable drug delivery depot.
2018
The limited stability of catanionic vesicles has discouraged their wide use for encapsulation and controlled release of active substances. Their structure can easily break down to form lamellar phases, micelles or rearrange into multilamellar vesicles, as a consequence of small changes in their composition. However, despite the limited stability, catanionic vesicles possess an attractive architecture, which is able to efficiently encapsulate both hydrophobic and hydrophilic molecules. Therefore, improving the stability of the vesicles, as well as the control on unilamellar structures, are prerequisites for their wider application range. This study focuses on the impact of β-cyclodextrins fo…
Getting married or entering into a partnership : the patrimonial issues of choice in french law
2021
In French law, there are only two models of couples between which a choice is really possible to organize their patrimonial relationships: partnership or marriage. But, if the couple intends to organize a transfer of assets between companions both during the union and in case of death, it is definitely marriage that offers more possibilities than partnership. Often, young French couples, who do not wish to marry, either not at the begining of their relationship or not at all, have the idea that, if marriage organizes a legal protection of the couple, the partners have the possibility to provide conventionally equivalent protection. In fact, this idea is wrong.
Room temperature ionic liquids based on cationic porphyrin derivatives and tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate anion
2011
A series of 11 low melting ionic liquids based on meso-substituted A3B -porphyrins and A2B2-porphyrins containing one or two pyridyl substituents have been synthesized in high yields. Three of them are liquids at room temperature. All these porphyrinic salts were characterized by1H NMR,19F NMR, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, elemental analysis and UV-visible spectroscopy. The thermal properties and conductivity values of these salt derivatives have been also measured. A specific conductivity value of up to 4 mS.cm-1could be obtained for a compound having the counter-anion B(C6F5)4-.
Ion–Molecule Rate Constants for Reactions of Sulfuric Acid with Acetate and Nitrate Ions
2022
Atmospheric nucleation from precursor gases is a significant source of cloud condensation nuclei in the troposphere and thus can affect the Earth's radiative balance. Sulfuric acid, ammonia, and amines have been identified as key nucleation precursors in the atmosphere. Studies have also shown that atmospheric ions can react with sulfuric acid to form stable clusters in a process referred to as ion-induced nucleation (IIN). IIN follows similar reaction pathways as chemical ionization, which is used to detect and measure nucleation precursors via atmospheric pressure chemical ionization mass spectrometers. The rate at which ions form clusters depends on the ion-molecule rate constant. Howeve…
Low-temperature optical spectroscopy of cobalt in Cu,Co superoxide dismutase: a structural dynamics study of the solvent-unaccessible metal site.
1995
The temperature dependence (300 to 10 K) of the electronic absorption spectra of the cobalt chromophore in bovine superoxide dismutase (SOD) having the native Zn(II) ion selectivity replaced by Co(II) has been investigated in four different derivatives: Cu(II),Co(II) SOD, N3(-)-Cu(II), Co(II) SOD, Cu(I),Co(II) SOD, and E,Co(II) SOD in which the copper ion has been selectively removed. In the Cu(II),Co(II) SOD, the cobalt spectrum is characterized at room temperature by three bands centered at 18,472, 17,670, and 16,793 cm-1; the low-frequency band is split, at low temperatures, into two components, indicating a lower symmetry contribution to a predominantly tetrahedral crystal field. Additi…
Anionic Polymerization of (Meth)acrylates in the Presence of Cesium Halide−Trialkylaluminum Complexes in Toluene
2001
The polymerization of methyl methacrylate and various acrylates initiated by ester enolates in the presence of cesium halide-trialkylaluminum complexes, Cs[Al n R 2n X] (n = 1, 2; R = Et, Bu'), in toluene has living and controlled character at -20 °C for methacrylates (X = Cl) and at -65 °C for n-butyl acrylate (X = F). Quantitative monomer conversions are usually reached, leading to polymers with narrow molecular weight distributions (M w /M n < 1.1). Kinetic investigations indicate a rather complex polymerization mechanism, and we assume an equilibrium between at least two active species. With this new initiating system, beside acrylate homopolymers, random and graft copolymers can be syn…
