Un códice desconocido del Doctrinal de los cavalleros de Alfonso de Cartagena

Se describe el manuscrito del Doctrinal de los cavalleros de Alfonso de Cartagena conservado en el Archivo Nacional de Praga, desconocido hasta el momento por editores y estudiosos de la obra del humanista, pese a haber sido ya identficado correctamente en 1984. De entre los 17 manuscritos del siglo siglo XV, más dos del siglo XVI y dos incunables, que constituyen la trasmisión manuscrita e impresa de la obra, el manuscrito descrito es uno de los más relevantes, por razones artísticas y filológicas. No sólo su factura es bellísima, realizada sobre pergamino y con iluminaciones, sino que ofrece lecturas convincentes para solucionar algún pasaje difícil. Se incluyen fotografías del manuscrito.

Extended Families as Communities of Religious Experience in Late Seventeenth-Century Eastern Finland

AbstractThis chapter offers an interpretation of extended families as communities of experience in a rural area close to the eastern border of the Swedish realm. Through a case study of lower court records, Kuha examines the social and religious life in a 17th-century farm culminating in the crisis of an extended family. The chapter explores how practices of lived religion shaped the relationship of the community and the individual, and how experiences were negotiated within families and local communities. The analysis highlights the importance of protecting the boundaries of the household as well as the meaning of religious practices in creating cohesion within the community.

In this dissertation, I study the observance of holy days among the peasantry in the early modern province of Savo, located on the eastern periphery of the Swedish kingdom (today Eastern Finland). I examine the practices, norms and meanings related to the observance of holy days both within and outside the Church, and analyse the changes and continuities in the post-reformation period. As the main sources of the study, I use district court records and visitation records mainly from the period 1639–1712. Joannes Molanus, teolog, rektor Uniwersytetu w Louvain napisał obszerny traktat, który miał być pomocą dla biskupów i księży, w szczegółowym zastosowaniu ogólnego dekretu soborowego o obrazach. Molanus odrzucił te sposoby obrazowania, które nie są oparte na Biblii, a na apokryfach. Zerwał także z niektórymi przedstawieniami alegorycznymi czy wschodnimi. The paper discusses a plethora of ideas regarding the concept of Roman citizenship, which is addressed in the light of a theory of fellowship (meaning ‘to be part of a given community’) and a theory of otherness (meaning ‘a relationship with someone who is not part of a given community’). There will be a brief overview of the development of citizenship in Ancient Roman history (during the period of Kings, Republican and Imperial Rome).
