Chemoresistance and chemosensitization in cholangiocarcinoma

One of the main difficulties in the management of patients with advanced cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is their poor response to available chemotherapy. This is the result of powerful mechanisms of chemoresistance (MOC) of quite diverse nature that usually act synergistically. The problem is often worsened by altered MOC gene expression in response to pharmacological treatment. Since CCA includes a heterogeneous group of cancers their genetic signature coding for MOC genes is also diverse; however, several shared traits have been defined. Self-packed core shell nano liquid chromatography columns and silica-based monolithic trap columns for targeted proteomics.

Self-preparation of nano liquid chromatography (nLC) columns has advantages regarding cost and flexibility. For targeted proteomics, we evaluated several approaches for particle-packing nLC columns and manufacturing fritless silica-based monolithic trap columns (50μm inner diameter). Our preferred approach for nLC column preparation was to magnetically stir Accucore core shell particles (C18 stationary phase) in ACN/water (80/20, v/v) suspensions during pressure-driven filling of polymer-fritted standard fused silica capillaries. These complexes and their allosteric receptor–receptor interactions are bidirectional and novel targets for treatment of CNS diseases including mental diseases. The existence of D2R-5-HT2AR heterocomplexes can help explain the anti-schizophrenic effects of atypical antipsychotic drugs not only based on blockade of 5-HT2AR and of D2R in higher doses but also based on blocking the allosteric enhancement of D2R protomer signaling by 5-HT2AR protomer activation. Induction of dormancy in hypoxic human papillomavirus-positive cancer cells

Oncogenic human papillomaviruses (HPVs) are closely linked to major human malignancies, including cervical and head and neck cancers. It is widely assumed that HPV-positive cancer cells are under selection pressure to continuously express the viral E6/E7 oncogenes, that their intracellular p53 levels are reconstituted on E6/E7 repression, and that E6/E7 inhibition phenotypically results in cellular senescence.
