Approximation properties of higher degree F-transforms based on B-splines
2015
The paper deals with the F-transform with polynomial components with respect to a generalized fuzzy partition given by B-splines. We investigate approximation properties of the inverse F-transform in this case and prove that using B-splines allows us to improve the quality of approximation of smooth functions.

Mixed integer optimal compensation: Decompositions and mean-field approximations
2012
Mixed integer optimal compensation deals with optimizing integer- and real-valued control variables to compensate disturbances in dynamic systems. The mixed integer nature of controls might be a cause of intractability for instances of larger dimensions. To tackle this issue, we propose a decomposition method which turns the original n-dimensional problem into n independent scalar problems of lot sizing form. Each scalar problem is then reformulated as a shortest path one and solved through linear programming over a receding horizon. This last reformulation step mirrors a standard procedure in mixed integer programming. We apply the decomposition method to a mean-field coupled multi-agent s…
Complete Measurement of the Λ Electromagnetic Form Factors.
2019
The exclusive process e+e−→ΛΛ¯, with Λ→pπ− and Λ¯→p¯π+, has been studied at s=2.396 GeV for measurement of the timelike Λ electric and magnetic form factors, GE and GM. A data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 66.9 pb−1, was collected with the BESIII detector for this purpose. A multidimensional analysis with a complete decomposition of the spin structure of the reaction enables a determination of the modulus of the ratio R=|GE/GM| and, for the first time for any baryon, the relative phase ΔΦ=ΦE−ΦM. The resulting values are R=0.96±0.14(stat)±0.02(syst) and ΔΦ=37°±12°(stat)±6°(syst), respectively. These are obtained using the recently established and most precise value of …
Further results on H<inf>∞</inf> control of switched linear time-delay systems
2012
In this note, we study the problems of stability analysis and H ∞ controller synthesis of discrete-time switched systems with time-varying delay. The system under consideration is firstly transformed into an interconnection system. Based on the system transformation and the scaled small gain theorem, the asymptotic stability of the original system is examined via the version of the bounded realness of the transformed forward system. The aim of the proposed approach is to reduce conservatism, which is made possible by a precise approximation of the time-varying delay and the input-output approach. The proposed stability condition is demonstrated to be much less conservative than most existin…
Time delay induced effects on control of linear systems under random excitation
2001
Recursive formulas in terms of statistics of the response of linear systems with time delay under normal white noise input are developed. Two alternative methods are presented, in order to capture the time delay effects. The first is given in an approximate solution obtained by expanding the control force in a Taylor series. The second, available for the stationary solution (if it exists) gets the variance of the controlled system, with time delay in an analytical form. The efficacy loss in terms of statistics of the response is discussed in detail.
