The essay focuses on the first mission to southern Borneo carried out by the Theatine priest Father Antonino Ventimiglia, whose biographical profile is reconstructed, following his traces, retracing the steps of his journey through an extensive use of narrative and archival sources. Through such sources the contextual complexity of Father Ventimiglia’s mission emerges, far beyond the circumstances in which it had been originally planned.

La representación del Reino de Valencia fuera de Cortes fue objeto de debate político en la época y lo es de controversia historiográfica. Se estudia en el artículo la polémica provocada por la pretensión del marqués de Benavites, embajador de los Estamentos en la Corte, de poner el escudo con las armas del Reino en su casa. Se discutía, en definitiva, si la representación la tenían los Estamentos o la Diputación. El asunto provocó la división de opiniones en el Consejo de Aragón y la indeterminación de la reina Mariana de Austria. (A)

The synthesis of two enantiomeric pairs of pyrimidoisoindoles 9a, 9b and 10a, 10b is reported. During a domino ring-closure reaction, followed by cycloreversion, the chirality of diendo-(−)-(1R,2S,3R,4S)-3-aminobicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2-carboxamide [(−)-1] was successfully transfered to heterocycles (+)-9a, (+)-10a, (−)-9b, (−)-10b and (−)-10c. peerReviewed

Why has it not yet been possible to bring the nuclear weapons regime to an end and why are prospects about a nuclear weapon free future so bleak? In this thesis, I analyze both the achievements and failures concerning the global governance of nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament.
