The multi-armed bandit problem has been studied for decades. In brief, a gambler repeatedly pulls one out of N slot machine arms, randomly receiving a reward or a penalty from each pull. The aim of the gambler is to maximize the expected number of rewards received, when the probabilities of receiving rewards are unknown. Thus, the gambler must, as quickly as possible, identify the arm with the largest probability of producing rewards, compactly capturing the exploration-exploitation dilemma in reinforcement learning. Searches for rare or forbidden semileptonic charm decays

We present searches for rare or forbidden charm decays of the form $X_c^+\to h^\pm\ell^\mp\ell^{(\prime)+}$, where $X_c^+$ is a charm hadron ($D^+$, $D^+_s$, or $\Lambda_c^+$), $h^\pm$ is a pion, kaon, or proton, and $\ell^{(\prime)\pm}$ is an electron or muon. The analysis is based on $384 fb^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at or close to the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the BaBar detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. No significant signal is observed for any of the 35 decay modes that are investigated. We establish 90% confidence-level upper limits on the branching fractions between $1 \times 10^{-6}$ and $44 \times 10^{-6}$ depending on the channel. In most…

Dalį Ilūkstės apskrities lenkų ir lietuvių karinės pajėgos okupavo 1919 m. vasarą. Lenkų valdžios įstaigos nedelsdamos įtraukė 6 apskrities rytinės dalies valsčius ir Gryvos miestą į savo valstybės sudėtį ir atsisakė svarstyti šį klausimą su Latvijos atstovais. Klausimas buvo išspręstas tiktai 1920 m. liepos pradžioje, kai dėl Raudonosios armijos puolimo lenkų kariuomenė buvo priversta pasitraukti iš Ilūkstės apskrities. Tuo pasinaudojo Latvijos pusė, tuo momentu pagal savo galimybes užimdami dalį tos teritorijos. Likusią užėmė lietuviai, kurie jau nuo 1919 m. vasaros buvo rūpimoje Ilūkstės apskrities dalyje.
