Huntington's disease (HD) is a hereditary neurodegenerative disease caused by the expansion of a polyglutamine stretch in the huntingtin (HTT) protein and characterized by dysregulated calcium homeostasis. We investigated whether these disturbances are correlated with changes in the mRNA level of the genes that encode proteins involved in calcium homeostasis and signaling (i.e., the calciosome). Using custom-made TaqMan low-density arrays containing probes for 96 genes, we quantified mRNA in the striatum in YAC128 mice, a model of HD, and wildtype mice. A Database of Spectral Filter Array Images that Combine Visible and NIR

International audience; Spectral filter array emerges as a multispectral imaging technology, which could benefit several applications. Although several instantiations are prototyped and commercialized, there are yet only a few raw data available that could serve research and help to evaluate and design adequate related image processing and algorithms. This document presents a freely available spectral filter array database of images that combine visible and near infra-red information.

In this thesis work, solution dispensing techniques have been employed for the realization of complex biological arrays. Inkjet printing techniques were employed for the generation of drug screening platforms. This approach was initially proved with a model enzyme system like Glucose Oxidase substrate covalently linked to a functionalized silicon oxide support. On this support an enzymatic substrate (D-glucose)/inhibitor (D-glucal) couple was accurately dispensed. Non-uniform irradiance significantly decreases the power delivered by solar photovoltaic arrays. A promising technique for compensating these power losses relies on dynamically reconfiguring the electrical connections between photovoltaic modules. Localizing quantum phase slips in one-dimensional Josephson junction chains

These chains were fabricated with as many as 2888 junctions, where one sample had a separately tunable link in the middle of the chain. Background Psoriasis and atopic dermatitis are two inflammatory skin diseases with a high prevalence and a significant burden on the patients.
