Pure populations of in vitro propagated bone marrow-derived macrophages are constitutively Ia negative. Co-culturing of these cells with recombinant interferon-gamma (rIFN-gamma) resulted in the appearance of high amounts of Ia antigens at the cell surface of essentially all cells. The continuous presence of the stimulus was a prerequisite for sustained Ia expression because removal of the stimulus resulted in rapid decline of surface Ia. Soluble factors as well as contact interactions between the hematopoietic cells and the marrow microenvironment dictate the fate of hematopoietic stem cells and progenitors. ABSTRACTInterstitial pneumonia (IP) is a severe organ manifestation of cytomegalovirus (CMV) disease in the immunocompromised host, in particular in recipients of bone marrow transplantation (BMT). Diagnostic criteria for the definition of CMV-IP include clinical evidence of pneumonia together with CMV detected in bronchoalveolar lavage or lung biopsy. Complete coding nucleotide sequence of cDNA for the class II RT1.B beta I chain of the Lewis rat.

We have established the first full length cDNA clone for the beta light chain of the MHC class II alpha, beta heterodimer (isotype RT1.B) of the rat. Clone pLR beta 118 was obtained from a self-primed lambda gt10 cDNA library of IFN-tau treated bone marrow-derived macrophages of the Lewis rat. Subcloning of pLR beta 118 into a transcription vector with subsequent in vitro transcription and translation using the reticulocyte lysate system in the presence of microsomes followed by immunoprecipitation with mAb OX6 and two-dimensional gel electrophoresis revealed the intact RT1.B beta I-chain.

This article analyzes the statistical properties of narrowband mobile-to-mobile (M2M) fading channels with equal gain combining (EGC) under line-of-sight (LOS) propagation conditions. Here, we study a dual-hop amplify-and-forward (AF)relay network. It is assumed that there can exist LOS components in the transmission links between the source mobile station and the destination mobile station via K mobile relays. Traditional fermented sausage ‘Nem chua’ as a source of yeast biocatalysts efficient for the production of the aroma compound γ-decalactone

International audience; The yeast ecosystem of Nem chua, a Vietnamese traditional fermented sausage naturally rich in medium‐chain‐length lipid‐derived flavouring compounds, was investigated to select biocatalysts able to produce the C10‐fatty acid‐derived aroma compound γ‐decalactone. The total number of yeast was about 5 × 104 to 4 × 105 CFU g−1, and eighty four different species were identified from morphological, physiological and 26S rDNA characteristics, with Candida sake and Candida haemulonii being found in all samples. Compensating for instantaneous signal mixing in transfer entropy analysis of neurobiological time series

The transfer entropy (TE) has recently emerged as a nonlinear model-free tool, framed in information theory, to detect directed interactions in coupled processes. Unfortunately, when applied to neurobiological time series TE is biased by signal cross-talk due to volume conduction.
