Secondary hyperparathyroidism (HP) presenting with hypocalcemia and subsequent increased parathormone (PTH), is mainly identified in patients with chronic renal failure, which has been associated with variable degrees of bone marrow fibrosis. Circulatory and respiratory reactions during the implantation of joint endoprostheses have been observed for years. The components of the bone cements used for anchoring (methyl methacrylate monomer) or the outpour of bone marrow substances from the affected bone marrow cavity are thought to be chiefly responsible for these effects. Electronmicroscopical Contrast by Palladium Chloride

Thin sections of glutaraldehyde-fixed, epoxy resin-embedded bone marrow from rats were treated with 2% palladium chloride in 2% concentrated HCl. This procedure was found to induce high electron density in chromatin from all cell types and in cytoplasmic granules of neutrophils and eosinophils. In the latter, the crystalline body showed more contrast than the matrix.

A narrowband MIMO car-to-car channel model based on the geometrical street scattering model

In this paper, we model a narrowband multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) car-to-car (C2C) channel model based on the geometrical street scattering model. Starting from the geometrical model, a MIMO reference channel model is derived under the assumption of single-bounce scattering in line-of-sight (LOS) and non-LOS (NLOS) propagation environments. In the proposed channel model, an infinite number of scatterers are uniformly distributed in rectangular grids located on both sides of the street. In part I, both the arrow diagram (AD) and expanded AD decompositions of the antisymmetrization operator A for an N‐electron system with wave function represented by the product of mutually nonorthogonal group functions have been considered. Based on them, new diagrams for decompositions of normalization and overlap integrals, reduced density matrices, as well as for total electronic energy of the system are proposed and discussed in detail in the present part. The rules for evaluation of the contribution of each diagram in the form of an analytical expression are obtained. Both the strong and p‐orthogonality approximations are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate feasibility and efficacy of Rituximab included into a sequential salvage protocol for CD20(+) B-NHL in relapse or induction failure. Twenty-seven patients with CD20(+) B-NHL in relapse or induction failure received Rituximab combined with DexaBEAM (R-DexaBEAM) for stem cell mobilization. Additional ex vivo selection of CD34-positive cells was performed using the CliniMacs device. Two doses of Rituximab were included in the high-dose therapy regimen (HDT). R-DexaBEAM was well tolerated and 26 of 27 patients mobilized sufficient numbers of CD34(+) blood stem cells. Application of R-DexaBEAM resulted in significant depletion of peripheral B cells. No t…

We determined prospectively the incidence of chromosomal abnormalities in patients with high-risk breast cancer (HRBC) after high-dose chemotherapy (HDCT) and autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT), and correlated the cytogenetic abnormalities with the development of post-transplant myelodysplastic syndrome or acute myeloid leukemia (MDS/AML). From 1990 to 1999, 229 women with HRBC underwent ASCT. Cytogenetic analysis of bone marrow (BM) cells was performed 12–59 months after ASCT in 60 consecutive women uniformly treated with six courses of FAC/FEC followed by HDCT and ASCT. Cytogenetic aberrations identified by metaphase cytogenetics (MC) have diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic implications in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). However, in some MDS patients MC study is unsuccesful. Single nucleotide polymorphism array (SNP-A) based karyotyping could be helpful in these cases.
