Abstract One of the technological problems of a fusion reactor is the change in composition and structure of ceramic breeders (Li 4 SiO 4 or Li 2 TiO 3 pebbles) during long-term operation. In this study changes in the composition and microstructure of Li 4 SiO 4 pebbles with 2.5 wt% silicon dioxide additions, fabricated by a melt-spraying process, were investigated after fast electron irradiation ( E = 5 MeV, dose rate up to 88 MGy h −1 ) with high absorbed dose from 1.3 to 10.6 GGy at high temperature (543–573 K) in air and argon atmosphere. Abstract Ceramic breeder (CB) pebbles consisting of lithium orthosilicate (Li4SiO4) as the main phase and lithium metasilicate (Li2SiO3) as a secondary phase were analysed with respect to radiation-induced defects and radiolysis products. Therefore, pebbles that were irradiated with neutrons in the so-called HICU experiment ( H igh neutron fluence i rradiation of pebble sta c ks for f u sion) were compared to pebbles irradiated with accelerated electrons and to an unirradiated sample. A total of 1255 roach Rutilus rutilus (L.) and 866 perch Perca fluviatilis (L.) from four interconnected lakes in Central Finland differing in trophic status and pollution level were studied for parasitic ergasilid copepods between August 1985 and December 1988. In addition, 109 whitefish (Coregonus sp.) were studied from one of the lakes. A survey of phytoseiid mites was carried out in the Basilicata region (Southern Italy) between 1976 and 2014 on wild and cultivated plants. A total of 38 species belonging to eleven genera and two subgenera were found on 59 plant species. The most common species was Euseius finlandicus (Oudemans) (39%) followed by Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) exhilaratus Ragusa (32.2%), Kampimodromus aberrans (Oudemans) (27.1%), Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) cryptus (Athias-Henriot) (23.7%). Typhloseiulus arzakanicus (Arutunjan), found for first time in Italy, is redescribed here, while the male of this species is described for the first time. Jože Plečnik (Ljubljana, 23rd January 1872 - Ljubljana, 7th January 1957) was, without any doubt, Otto Wagner's most brilliant pupil. During his tireless activity as an architect, he manages to touch a variety of absolutely heterogeneous themes, masterfully reworking the consolidated syntax of traditional architecture.
