The dependence of the spectrum of oxygenated hemoglobin (Hb) on the Hb concentration was measured and it was found that Hb solutions do not obey Lambert-Beer's law. The absorption coefficient depends clearly on the Hb concentration. As all external parameters were kept constant except Hb concentration, the only way to explain our result is to assume that Hb molecules undergo self association and that this self association is reflected in the behaviour of the absorption coefficient. ‘Plastinates’ (i.e. corpses conserved through plastics) are lab created artifacts which since the nineties have been the subject of a cultural field experiment via an anatomical exhibition. Similarly to brain-dead or digitalized bodies, they constitute an ambiguous form of post-mortem existence. The article inquires after the ways in which the ontological status of these entities is constituted through the practices of body donors, anatomists and visitors. Plastinates owe their ambiguity to an oscillation between two different frames of perception. The association of certain psychological traits with men and others with women was studied among 4285- and 8-year-old children in 5 European countries. Subjects were read 32 stories, each representing a particular trait (e.g., aggressive, emotional), and following each story they selected between male and female silhouettes as being "the person the story is about." The findings indicated substantial cross-national similarity in the traits ascribed to men and women. Abstract The European Union and the Republic of Moldova negotiated an Association Agreement (AA) in 2010, and a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) in 2012. After completion of negotiations and initialling of AA, before the full Agreement can enter into force, action is needed to ensure that the Parties are able to enjoy the full benefits of the Agreement. SMEs play a focal role in the implementation of the future DCFTA. The article describes the economic and political basis for association/integration, outlining the importance of SMEs. Four lexical decision experiments were conducted to examine under which conditions automatic semantic priming effects can be obtained. Experiments 1 and 2 analyzed associative/semantic effects at several very short stimulus-onset asynchronies (SOAs), whereas Experiments 3 and 4 used a single-presentation paradigm at two response-stimulus intervals (RSIs). Experiment 1 tested associatively related pairs from three semantic categories (synonyms, antonyms, and category coordinates). The results showed reliable associative priming effects at all SOAs.
