Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää, miten myöhäiskeski-iän elämänasenteet ja -odotukset ovat yhteydessä fyysiseen toimintakykyyn myöhemmällä iällä. Lisäksi tarkasteltiin, ovatko elämänasenteet ja -odotukset yhteydessä fyysiseen toimintakykyyn vielä silloinkin, kun otetaan huomioon muut tunnetut toimintakyvyn riskitekijät, kuten ikä, sukupuoli, sosioekonominen asema ja koettu terveys. Tutkielman aineistona käytettiin Helsingin syntymäkohorttitutkimuksen (The Helsinki Birth Cohort Study) aineistoa vuosilta 2001–2011. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kartoittaa suomalaisten lukio-opiskelijoiden asenteita englannin suullista kielitaitoa ja sen testaamista kohtaan. Tietoa kerättiin kyselylomakkeen avulla kahden kaupungin IB-lukioista ja samoissa kouluissa toimivista kansallisista lukioista. Vastaajia oli yhteensä 184. Tutkimuksessa haluttiin selvittää, millaisia asenteita Suomen lukiolaisilla on englannin suullista kielitaitoa kohtaan. Research examining Service-Learning (SL) in Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) is ample. However, long-term investigations are still scarce and literature demands the application of this type of design to uncover the effects of SL on the long run. This study followed a longitudinal quantitative approach; thus, the participants completed the Civic Attitudes and Skills Questionnaire (CASQ) in three occasions (pretest-postest1-postest2). Este trabajo constituye una primera aproximación a la ciencia en la ciencia ficción desde el punto de vista del alumnado y qué posibilidades ofrece como recurso didáctico. Sondeamos, por tanto, si los alumnos conocen y han visto cine de ciencia ficción, así como si este factor influye en sus actitudes hacia la ciencia y los científicos y su opinión sobre las consecuencias de los avances científicos en el futuro. Asimismo, nos planteamos si los estudiantes perciben las visiones deformadas de la ciencia y los científicos que transmite el cine de ciencia ficción. Pretendemos, asimismo, estudiar si se utiliza la ciencia ficción como recurso didáctico.
