En parcourant ses romans, l’analyse de certains documents avant-textuels et la lecture du texte sur les Fous qui sera publié seulement en 2002 dans la version originale qui précédait son intégration aux Enfants du Limon permettent de démontrer la fonction du modèle flaubertien — et du roman Bouvard et Pécuchet en particulier — dans l’œuvre de Raymond Queneau. Evaluating the quality of the Mexican fruit-fly, Anastrepha ludens, as host for the parasitoid Melittobia digitata

We investigated the presence of Melittobia digitata (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) and its associations with its natural hosts in Veracruz, Mexico. The parasitoid was confirmed to be present and found to attack prepupae of Trypoxylon and Sceliphron (Hymenoptera: Crabronidae and Sphecidae, respectively) mud daubers as well as pupae of the Mexican fruit fly Anastrepha ludens (Diptera: Tephritidae). Since A. ludens is a very important pest of citrus and mango in Mexico and Central America, we evaluated, in laboratory experiments, the quality of A. ludens as host of M. digitata comparing the development of the parasitoid in another unrelated fly species (Sarcophaga [Neobellieria] bullata) (Diptera: …
Kinetics of domain growth in finite Ising strips

Abstract Monte Carlo simulations are presented for the kinetics of ordering of the two-dimensional nearest-neighbor Ising models in an L x M geometry with two free boundaries of length M ⪢ L . This geometry models a “terrace” of width L on regularly stepped surfaces, adatoms adsorbed on neighboring terraces being assumed to be noninteracting. Starting out with an initially random configuration of the atoms in the lattice gas at coverage θ = 1 2 in the square lattice, quenching experiments to temperatures in the range 0.85⩽ T / T c ⩽1 are considered, assuming a dynamics of the Glauber model type (no conservation laws being operative). Birch pollen contains allergens belonging to those with the strongest allergenic properties. In order to trace pollen season patterns of this taxon and pollen annual sums at a wider regional scale, cooperation was established with the University of Latvia in Riga (Latvia). A comparison of the results obtained in the years 2003-2008 in Lublin and in Riga, using volumetric samplers, shows that there was a similar trend in the abundance of birch pollen. The highest sums were noted at both sites in 2003. In all the study years, more birch pollen grains were recorded in Lublin than in Riga, on the average by 7110. Quantum dynamics of the intensity-dependent Tavis-Cummings model

An exactly solvable generalization of the intensity-dependent Jaynes-Cummings model to the case of N0 atoms is introduced together with its solution. The quantum dynamics of the model including the squeezing properties of the su(1,1) Perelomov and Glauber coherent states is investigated. The cases of one and two atoms present in the cavity are analysed in detail. These two cases are compared in the situation when the atomic subsystem is initially prepared in the ground state, the Dicke state and the state of thermal equilibrium.

En primer lugar, pretende demostrar la importancia del espacio en la literatura del exilio, adaptando las ideas de Yuri Lotman en el campo de la semiótica de la cultura y la teoría de los espacios otros de Michael Foucault. En 1968 la editorial Aguilar propone a Max Aub escribir un libro sobre su amigo y cineasta Luis Buñuel. Desde ese momento, y hasta el día de su muerte, el escritor dedicó todas sus fuerzas a elaborar esta obra que, finalmente, resultó ser un proyecto inconcluso y de alcance imposible, a la vez que un testimonio generacional y un reto literario. En primer lugar, esta tesis se propone establecer los parámetros que articulan el proceso de elaboración de Luis Buñuel: novela, obra en su mayoría inédita, de Max Aub, durante estos cuatro años. Centrality-dependent forward J/ψ production in high energy proton-nucleus collisions

Forward $J/\psi$ production and suppression in high energy proton-nucleus collisions can be an important probe of gluon saturation. In an earlier work we studied this process in the Color Glass Condensate framework and showed that using the Glauber approach to extrapolate the dipole cross section of a proton to a nucleus leads to results closer to experimental data than previous calculations in this framework. Here we investigate the centrality dependence of the nuclear suppression in this model and show a comparison of our results with recent LHC data.
