A general framework for group authentication and key exchange protocols

Immersive virtual environments (VEs) have the potential to provide novel cost effective ways for evaluating not only new environments and usability scenarios, but also potential user experiences. To achieve this, VEs must be adequately realistic. The level of perceived authenticity can be ascertained by measuring the levels of immersion people experience in their VE interactions. Authentic assessment as a support for student teachers’ reflection

Assessment and feedback guide learning. In light of this, the assessment practices of teacher education have received little research. This qualitative study examines student teachers’ discussions in a study unit built on authentic assessment practices: self- and peer assessment of videotapes from authentic performance with research-based rubrics. The aim is to investigate whether authentic assessment supports student teachers’ reflection and, if so, how. Kuvaamme artikkelissamme vieraiden kielten aineenopettajaksi opiskelevien kokemuksia kielisuihkutusmetodista varhaisen vieraan kielenoppimisen ja -opettamisen välineenä. Tutkimusaineisto koostuu 15 soveltavan ohjatun opetusharjoittelun harjoitteluraportista, joissa kuvataan aamu- ja iltapäivätoiminnassa ja esiopetuksessa suoritettua opetusharjoittelua. Origins and originality : Authenticity in the media representation of Julie Fowlis

This article examines the ways in which Scottish Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis is constructed ‘authentic’ in the media. Two narratives that I call ‘narrative of origins’ and ‘narrative of professionalism’ construct her authenticity as a representative of the folk music scene. Fowlis represents the new Gaelic speaker, but is presented in terms of stereotypical imagery connected to Scotland, which portrays tradition as stagnant, quaint and in need of preservation. However, she is also presented as a professional artist, remaking and reinterpreting the tradition of a living culture that she represents. Diplomdarbā tiek pētīts, kā iespējams pilnveidot 8. klases skolēnu klausīšanās prasmes, izmantojot autentiskos video materiālus angļu valodas stundās. Darbs sniedz ieskatu klausīšanās prasmju nozīmē komunikācijā un autentisko video materiālu izmantošanā angļu valodas stundās. Izvēlētā pētījuma metode bija gadījuma pētījums kādā no Latvijas vidusskolām. Skolēnu aptaujas, testi, skolēnu atsauksmes un intervijas ar trīs angļu valodas skolotājām tika izmantotas kā datu ieguves metodes. Iegūtie dati liecina, ka autentisku video materiālu izmantošana angļu valodas stundās, pozitīvi ietekmē skolēnu klausīšanās prasmes: skolēniem ir vieglāk saprast dažādus akcentus, viņus mazāk ietekmē fona troksni…
