A monumental schola discovered on the Boulevard Frédéric-Latouche in Augustodunum/Autun (Saône-et-Loire)

In 2011, an archaeological evaluation was carried out in the centre of the Roman city of Augustodunum (Autun) on a plot of over 1 ha. This operation afforded the opportunity to explore parts of two insulae along the main street, the so-called cardo maximus, an area that has benefited from recent advances in knowledge. The first insula hosts a high-status domus strongly resembling those of "Balbius Iassus" and the "Étui d’Or", excavated in the vicinity in the 1970s; the second, addressed in this paper, contains the remains of a vast monumental complex covering approximately 900 m2. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää persoonallisuuden piirteiden ja tunteiden säätelystrategioiden yhteyksiä työn imuun. Tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin persoonallisuuden piirteistä ulospäinsuuntautuneisuutta ja neuroottisuutta sekä tunteiden säätelystrategioista tilanteen uudelleen arviointia ja tunteiden tukahduttamista. Ensinnäkin kiinnostuksen kohteena oli ulospäinsuuntautuneisuuden ja neuroottisuuden merkitys työn imun ja sen eri ulottuvuuksien eli tarmokkuuden, omistautumisen ja uppoutumisen kokemiselle. Were the towns of Bibracte and Augustodunum astronomically oriented? We study in this publication an article published in the Revue Archéologique de l'Est which puts forward the hypothesis that the Gallic town of Bibracte respects, in its main buildings, orientations corresponding to sunrise on the Romanized dates of the Celtic festivals and that the Roman city of Augustodunum is rather oriented, in its urban fabric, on sunrises at the solstice, like other Roman cities. Our study tends to invalidate these hypotheses, by re-examining the reliability of the measurements taken and the chronology of the constructions in relation to the establishment of the Julian calendar.

The pathways in and out of crime differ according to gender, people’s life histories, social situations and networks. Before being sentenced, many women have been living in vulnerable and traumatic life situations and violent relationships. Substance abuse often plays a crucial role in committing crimes. Being released from prison and re-entering society is a process that requires women’s own motivation to desist along with help and support from society. This chapter shows how women narrate and describe their experiences after being released from prison and especially how they report the ways in which the welfare system responds to their needs.
