Synthesis, X-ray structure, Hirshfeld analysis, and DFT studies of a new Pd(II) complex with an anionic s-triazine NNO donor ligand

Abstract A new Pd(II) complex, [Pd(Triaz)Cl], with the hydrazono-s-triazine ligand, 2,4-di-tert-butyl-6-((2-(4-morpholino-6-(phenylamino)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)hydrazono)methyl)phenol (HTriaz), was synthesized by the reaction of PdCl2 with the organic ligand (1:1) in acetone under isothermal conditions. The molecular structure of the [Pd(Triaz)Cl] complex was determined using FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopic techniques, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Moreover, using Hirshfeld surface analysis, the percentages of the intermolecular interactions were determined. The obtained values were 60.6%, 11.6%, 8.1%, 3.6%, and 5.0% for the H⋯H, C⋯H, O⋯H, N⋯H, and Cl⋯H interactions, respectively. Among …

PAMPA—a drug absorption in vitro model

Parallel artificial membrane permeability assay (PAMPA) was used to measure the effective permeability, P(e), as a function of pH from 4 to 10, of 17 fluoroquinolones, including three congeneric series with systematically varied alkyl chain length at the 4'N-position of the piperazine residue. The permeability values spanned over three orders of magnitude. The intrinsic permeability, P(o), and the membrane permeability, P(m), were determined from the pH dependence of the effective permeability. The pK(a) values were determined potentiometrically. Comparison of an indirect format ELISA on modified graphite and polystyrene surfaces against triazines.

An indirect format enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay (ELISA) on graphite rods (Ø 0.8 mm x 20 mm) and, for comparison, on microtiter plates has been developed against terbuthylazine. For this purpose, a series of 2-aminoalkyl-4-chloro-6-terbuthyl-s-triazine-2,6- diamine ELISA haptens with alkyl spacer lengths of 2, 4, 6, and 8 CH2 groups has been synthesized. Bimolecular reduction of 9-alkyl-3-nitrocarbazoles

AbstractReduction of 9-alkyl-3-nitrocarbazoles (Ia–Ie) with lithium aluminium hydride gave corresponding 9,9′-dialkyl-3,3′-azocarbazoles (IIa–IIe) in moderate yield. By the action of zinc dust in alcohol and aqueous alkali on I or II, 5,13-dialkyldiindolo[3,2-a,d]phenazines (IIIa–IIId) were obtained. Parent compounds, viz. 3,3′-azocarbazole (IIf) and diindolo[3,2-a,d]phenazine (IIIf) could not be obtained in these ways. Compound IIf was obtained in Vorländer reaction and IIIf by thermal decomposition of 3-azidocarbazole. Formation of IIIa–IIId is explained as a result of ortho-benzidine rearrangement of hypothetical 9,9′-dialkyl-3,3′-hydrazocarbazoles.

Bacillus thuringiensis Cry3Aa toxin is a coleopteran specific toxin highly active against Colorado Potato Beetle (CPB).We have recently shown that Cry3Aa toxin is proteolytically cleaved by CPB midgut membrane associated metalloproteases and that this cleavage is inhibited by ADAM metalloprotease inhibitors. In the present study, we investigated whether the Cry3Aa toxin is a calmodulin (CaM) binding protein, as it is the case of several different ADAM shedding substrates. Differential reactivity of fluorinated homopropargylic amino esters vs gold(I) salts. The role of the nitrogen protecting group

The reaction of several homopropargyl amino esters 4, bearing aromatic substituents and a benzyl group as nitrogen substituents, with gold(I) salts gave rise to fluorinated quinolines 6 in a tandem hydroarylation-isomerization process. On the other hand, homopropargyl amino esters 7 containing a carbamate group underwent the carbonyl addition over the triple bond in the presence of gold(I) salts, rendering fluorinated oxazines 8. The use of chiral sulfoxides allowed us to develop the asymmetric version of this protocol. Abstract Three novel, metal-free organic sensitizers bearing two asymmetric double donor-π-acceptor (D-π-A) chains ( DC1 - 3 ), each, and a reference dye containing single D-π-A chain ( SC ) with cyanoacrylic acid as electron acceptor are synthesized. Their photophysical, electrochemical properties and the performances of the corresponding dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are further investigated. Encapsulation of cytochrome C by multilayer microcapsules. A model for improved enzyme immobilization

Cytochrome C was used as a model compound to study the behavior of proteins during the encapsulation procedure in alginate microcapsules and the loss by diffusion during storage. Alginate gel beads were coated with a multilayer membrane consisting of alternating layers of poly(N-vinylamine) and poly(acrylic acid) or water soluble anionic cellulose derivatives, respectively. To obtain high encapsulation yields, it is recommended to use the lowest possible concentration of salts in the precipitation bath.
