Crystal Engineering Studies of the Complexes of Ethyl Resorcinarene with Aromatic Nitrogen Heterocycles

Five X-ray structures of complexes of ethyl resorcinarene with aromatic nitrogen heterocycles (imidazole, 1,2,4-triazole, pyridine, pyrazine, 2-pyridylmethanol and quinoline) show that ethyl resorcinarene spontaneously forms molecular inclusion complexes with five- and six-membered aromatic nitrogen heterocycles via π π and CH π interactions. However, with 10-membered quinoline, no molecular inclusion complex is formed. Instead, quinoline manifests crystal lattice inclusion.

Ein fur Strukturtyp 3 charakteristischer ms Fragmentierungsweg beinhaltet die Umbildung der Diallylaminogruppe zum Aziridinring. Abstract Two novel, weakly antiferromagnetically coupled, tetranuclear copper(II) complexes [Cu4(PAP)2(μ2-1,1-N3)2(μ2-1,3-N3)2(μ2-CH3OH)2(N3)4 (1) (PAP = 1,4-bis-(2′-pyridylamino)phthalazine) and [Cu4(PAP3Me)2 (μ2-1,1-N3)2(μ2-1,3-N3)2(H2O)2(NO2)2]- (NO3)2 (2) (PAP3Me = 1,4-bis-(3′-methyl-2′-pyridyl)aminophthalazine) contain a unique structural with two μ2-1,1-azide intramolecular bridges, and two μ2-1,3-azide intermolecular bridges linking pairs of copper(II) centers. The ins and outs of spin: Using the microporous coordination polymer {Fe(pz)[Pt(CN)(4)]} (1, pz=pyrazine), incorporating spin-crossover subunits, two-directional magnetic chemo-switching is achieved at room temperature. In situ magnetic measurements following guest vapor injection show that most guest molecules transform 1 from the low-spin (LS) state to the high-spin (HS) state, whereas CS(2) uniquely causes the reverse HS-to-LS transition.

Natural disease-suppressive soils provide an untapped resource for the discovery of novel beneficial microorganisms and traits. For most suppressive soils, however, the consortia of microorganisms and mechanisms involved in pathogen control are unknown. To date, soil suppressiveness to Fusarium wilt disease has been ascribed to carbon and iron competition between pathogenic Fusarium oxysporum and resident non-pathogenic F. oxysporum and fluorescent pseudomonads. Abstract Synthesis, structural, magnetic, Mossbauer and thermal studies of isothiocyanate iron (II) complexes with substituted pyrazines (iodo-, bromo- and amino-derivatives) are discussed here. Complexes with iodo- and bromo-derivatives were found to have the composition [Fe(Ipz)2(SCN)2(H2O)2]·2Ipz (1) and [Fe(Brpz)2(SCN)2(H2O)2]·2Brpz (2), whereas in the case of amino-functionalized pyrazine the formation of [Fe(NH2pz)4(SCN)2] (3) was observed. 3D organization of the molecular complexes is stabilized within different hydrogen, halogen and lone pair–π interactions. N-(Pyrazin-2-yl)adamantane-1-carboxamide

Molecules of the title compound, C15H19N3O, are composed of an adamantine unit and a pyrazine ring connected to each other through an amide bond. The H—N—C=O moiety is close to planar [C—N—C—O and C—N—C—C torsion angles of 4.7 (2) and −173.8 (1)°, respectively]. The N3—C5 bond has partial double-bond character [1.370 (1) Å]. The geometries of the pyrazine ring and the adamantane substituent are normal and in good agreement with closely related structures. In the crystal, molecules are connected by N—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming zigzag chains in the [001] direction and are arranged in a herringbone fashion.
