Propagation non-linéaire d'impulsions femtosecondes dans une fibre optique à bande interdite à cœur solide
2009
Chalcogenide microstructured optical fibers : from linear to nonlinear properties
2010
International audience; In this talk, we review the linear properties of chalcogenide microstructured optical fibers (MOFs) of several types. We mainly focus our talk on mid-infrared applications of such fibers. We start with the general properties of solid core MOFs made of these high index glasses and compare them with the ones of silica. Then, we give some details concerning a solid core MOF made of TAS glass. Next, we describe the first guiding suspended chalcogenide MOF and explain how it was designed for supercontinuum generation in the mid-infrared. Both linear and nonlinear properties of As2S3 suspended core MOFs are also numerically studied. In the next part, We describe the design…
Wavelength conversion and temporal compression of a pulse train using a dispersion oscillating fiber
2014
International audience; We demonstrate the generation of a picosecond pulse train taking advantage of the cross gain occurring in a dispersion oscillating fibre. The resulting frequency-converted signal is detuned by more than 20 nm from the pump and can be temporally compressed by a factor 2 compared to the input sinusoidal pump wave.
Modal and wavelength conversions in plasmonic nanowires
2021
We show that plasmonic nanowire-nanoparticle systems can perform nonlinear wavelength and modal conversions and potentially serve as building blocks for signal multiplexing and novel trafficking modalities. When a surface plasmon excited by a pulsed laser beam propagates in a nanowire, it generates a localized broadband nonlinear continuum at the nanowire surface as well as at active locations defined by sites where nanoparticles are absorbed (enhancement sites). The local response may couple to new sets of propagating modes enabling a complex routing of optical signals through modal and spectral conversions. Different aspects influencing the optical signal conversions are presented, includ…
Defect-controlled hypersound propagation in hybrid superlattices
2013
We employ spontaneous Brillouin light scattering spectroscopy and detailed theoretical calculations to reveal and identify elastic excitations inside the band gap of hypersonic hybrid superlattices. Surface and cavity modes, their strength and anticrossing are unambiguously documented and fully controlled by layer thickness, elasticity, and sequence design. This new soft matter based superlattice platform allows facile engineering of the density of states and opens new pathways to tunable phoxonic crystals.
Coherent superposition of current flows in an atomtronic quantum interference device
2015
We consider a correlated Bose gas tightly confined into a ring shaped lattice, in the presence of an artificial gauge potential inducing a persistent current through it. A weak link painted on the ring acts as a source of coherent back-scattering for the propagating gas, interfering with the forward scattered current. This system defines an atomic counterpart of the rf-SQUID: the atomtronics quantum interference device (AQUID). The goal of the present study is to corroborate the emergence of an effective two-level system in such a setup and to assess its quality, in terms of its inner resolution and its separation from the rest of the many-body spectrum, across the different physical regime…
Partial cation-substitution in the sulphide kesterite: Absorber and heterojunction engineering
2019
International audience; The kesterite-based solar cells still suffer from a low conversion efficiency due to the large defect of the open circuit voltage Voc. This defect is mainly due to several problems related to the absorber material and the device interfaces. It has been reported that the partial cation substitution in the kesterite structure, can improve many properties of the absorbent layer and the device, i.e. improve the grain size, minimise the anti-site defects and disorder in the Cu-Zn plane, ameliorate the charge separation at the buffer/absorber interface. In this work, thin films of suphide kesterite are made by substituting copper (Cu) with silver (Ag) and zinc with mangane…
2013
The biodiversity conservation is one of the major agricultural issues of the XXIst century. The intensification of agriculture and the redesign of the agricultural landscape (grouping of fields, …) lead to huge decreases or damages of semi-naturals habitats, known to promote biodiversity at the farm and the landscape scale, and now recognised as “topographic surface equivalence” in France. In the experimental site of Epoisses (INRA of Dijon), a study to design the landscape elements in favour of the biodiversity has been initiated. Improving the management of existing habitats (woods, hedges, ditches, sown grass margin strips), establishing hedges, flower strips, redesigning the field organi…
