Vibrational modes of the stibine molecule

2005

International audience; In this paper, we use the algebraic approach to describe the vibrational modes of stibine molecule (of C3v molecular symmetry group) up to 21 quanta. As the stibine molecule exhibits stretch-bend resonances, we build an algebraic pyramidal coupling operator between stretching modes and bending modes adapted to this molecule. The standard deviation associated to the fit of the vibrational levels is 1.75 cm-1.

High resolution analysis and differential condensation in RBA-banded human chromosomes.

1981

Human prophase, premetaphase, and mid-metaphase chromosomes are prepared and analyzed using the thymidine cell synchronization technique and R-banding patterns (RBA). Haploid sets with 700–1000 bands can be demonstrated. Sequences of chromosomes of different degrees of condensation are helpful for a better understanding and classification of regions of extended chromosomes. A considerable variation in the condensation of parts of homologous chromosomes is reflected in the variability of the arm ratio. This differential condensation of chromosomes is entirely effected by variation of the degree of condensation in AT rich interbands and can be attributed to the degree of labeling by BrdU.

A circularly polarized wideband high gain patch antenna for wireless power transfer

2018

This article deals with a microstrip patch antenna working at 868 MHz, suitable for the radio frequency wireless power transfer and energy harvesting applications. The proposed monolithic antenna is compact, lightweight and it is printed on a thick substrate in order to maximize the total gain in the broadside direction. The antenna radiates at 868 MHz with a fractional impedance bandwidth of 5% and it shows a gain of 4.14 dB.

Local structure of perovskites ReO3and ScF3with negative thermal expansion: interpretation beyond the quasiharmonic approximation

2016

We propose an approach beyond the quasiharmonic approximation for interpretation of EXAFS and XRD data and for ab initio calculations of electronic and vibration properties of materials with negative thermal expansion. Ab initio electronic structure and lattice dynamics calculations for cubic and distorted ScF3 were performed using the linear combination of atomic orbitals (LCAO) method. The band gap obtained in calculations for ScF3 is equal to 10.54 eV and agree well with the expected value. The calculated infrared spectra of F displaced (FD) cubic ScF3 allow us to predict that its mean Sc-F-Sc angle within NTE deviates from 180 degree.

Towards an environmental assessment model of palaeontological and archaeological heritage in the Autonomous Valencian Community without comparative t…

2019

The deficient management of the paleontological heritage through the environmental impact assessment procedures from the Valencian public administrations, linked mainly to the lack of competent technical means in the matter, results in an almost abandonment of it. On the contrary, the archaeological heritage has a series of perfectly structured tools that allow any possible impact on it regarding projects and actions subject to environmental impact assessment that can be detected and corrected. The damage that this situation creates results in the abandonment and almost absolute lack of protection of the palaeontological heritage in the Valencian Community. Despite how much has been written…

Multiplet coupling and band structure in L2,3-edge XAS through multi-channel multiple scattering theory.

2009

International audience; Using the recently developed multi-channel multiple scattering (MCMS) method we have calculated the x-ray absorption spectra (XAS) at the L2,3-edge of transition metal compounds. The MCMS method is an ab initio scheme which combines an accurate description of the band structure of the material with a correlated many-electron wave function on the absorber atom. Thereby configuration interaction in the XAS final state, in particular multiplet effects, can be taken into account. In the present implementation, we use an electron-hole wave function and treat the interaction with all other electrons on a mean-field level. The calculated spectra agree well with experiment f…

Fabrication and Modelling of Three-Dimensional Sub-kelvin Phononic Crystals

2012

We have investigated the fabrication and computational modelling of threedimensional phononic crystals for the observation of full band gaps for thermal phonons at sub-kelvin temperatures. Self-assembled arrays of monodisperse polystyrene nanospheres have been fabricated using a vertical deposition technique. Optimal conditions for increasing crystal domain size and crystalline quality have been studied. In addition, the phononic band structure has been computed using the finite element method for the simple cubic lattice. The dependence of band structure on contact area between spheres has also been studied. For small enough contact area a large band gap is observed, predicting a strong in…

Construction and commissioning of the S-Band high gradient RF laboratory at IFIC

2018

An S-band High-Gradient (HG) Radio Frequency (RF) laboratory is under construction and commissioning at IFIC. The purpose of the laboratory is to perform investigations of high-gradient phenomena and to develop normal-conducting RF technology, with special focus on RF systems for hadron-therapy. The layout of the facility is derived from the scheme of the Xbox-3 test facility at CERN [1] and uses medium peak-power (7.5 MW) and high repetition rate (400 Hz) klystrons, whose RF output is combined to drive two testing slots to the required power. The design and construction of the various components of the system started in 2016 and has been completed. The installation and commissioning of the…
