Aproximació biogràfica a Bartomeu de Tresbens, físic i astròleg al servei del rei Pere el Cerimoniós i del seu fill l'infant Joan, futur Joan I el Caçador. Ho fem a partir del conjunt de la documentació sobre aquest personatge que fins ara ha estat descoberta als arxius, fonamentalment a l'Arxiu de la Corona d'Aragó, i també a partir de les notícies que apareixen en el conjunt de les seves obres sobre astrologia. Hem situat Tresbens en els seus orígens occitans, així com en el context de les activitats econòmiques, polítiques i socials durant el temps que el tenim documentat en terres de la Corona d'Aragó, mostrant l'home que hi ha al darrere de la més important obra astrològica en català. …

L’ascesa economica del ramo della famiglia Notarbartolo che conseguirà il titolo di duchi di Villarosa si caratterizza per la rapidità e l’incisività d’azione del capostipite: Francesco Notarbartolo Alvarez d’Eván. Muovendosi con abilità nel quadro del sistema economico siciliano della seconda metà del Seicento, Francesco riuscì in breve tempo a costruire il nucleo del patrimonio fondiario della famiglia: nel volgere di un ventennio, tra gli anni ’70 e gli anni ’90 del XVII secolo, creò un patrimonio di feudi compatto e geograficamente ben definito, che si estendeva tra Castrogiovanni e Santa Caterina. Synthesis of 7-Pentafluorophenyl-1H-indole: An Anion Receptor for Anion–π Interactions

7-Pentafluorophenyl-1H-indole has the potential to be a key compound for the investigation of anion–π interactions in solution. Unfortunately, it was not possible to obtain it by aryl–aryl coupling reaction. Finally, it has been prepared by Bartoli indole synthesis. The key compound as well as analogues were submitted to preliminary studies of anion binding. Single crystals of two key receptors were obtained.
A Small Forward-Looking Macroeconomic Model for EMU

In this paper we estimate a small forward-looking macroeconomic model for EMU which allows us to analyze the transmission mechanism of the monetary policy implemented by the European Central Bank through an interest rate rule that stabilizes inflation and output. The estimation of this model, which comprises forward-looking versions of the IS and the Phillips curves as well as the interest rate rule, is conducted by GMM using quarterly data from 1986 to 2000. We find that this simple model matches the dynamic properties of the output gap, inflation and the interest rate in EMU quite accurately. The article examines the inflence of Friedrich Nietzsche’s thought on the second edition of Karl Barth’s commentary on the Epistle to the Romans from 1922. The paper concentrates on direct quotations and references by name to the philosopher in the work discussed. All quotes are presented, analysed and compared with the source text. Subsequently, the similarities and differences in terms of the contents between the interpretation of the theologian and the philosophy adopted by him are outlined.
