This paper concerns the status of regional studies in political science research. Analysing the theory of the dual unity of Silesia presented by the Polish political scientist Józef Kokot, the author attempts to formulate theoretical criteria that make a region an object of interest for political scientists and regional studies, a subdiscipline of political science.

Cytokine- and chemokine-mediated signalling is involved in the neuroinflammatory process that leads to retinal ganglion cell (RGC) damage in glaucoma. Substances with anti-inflammatory properties could decrease these cytokines and chemokines and thus prevent RGC death. The authors of this study analysed the anti-inflammatory effect of a hydrophilic saffron extract standardized to 3% crocin content, focusing on the regulation of cytokine and chemokine production, in a mouse model of unilateral laser-induced ocular hypertension (OHT). Dado que la compositora, Bracha Bdil, pertenece a la comunidad ortodoxa de Europa del Este, muchas de sus obras se basan en la tradición musical de los modos judíos de Europa del Este y los textos de estas fuentes. La fusión de la técnica compositiva contemporánea con los elementos de la antigua tradición judía conduce a la compositora a un lenguaje compositivo muy personal.

We give different representations of the solutions of the Johnson equation with parameters. First, an expression in terms of Fredholm determinants is given; we give also a representation of the solutions written as a quotient of wronskians of order 2N. These solutions of order N depend on 2N − 1 parameters. When one of these parameters tends to zero, we obtain N order rational solutions expressed as a quotient of two polyno-mials of degree 2N (N +1) in x, t and 4N (N +1) in y depending on 2N −2 parameters. From first to fourth order rational solutions to the Boussinesq equation

Rational solutions to the Boussinesq equation are constructed as a quotient of two polynomials in x and t. For each positive integer N , the numerator is a polynomial of degree N (N + 1) − 2 in x and t, while the denominator is a polynomial of degree N (N + 1) in x and t. So we obtain a hierarchy of rational solutions depending on an integer N called the order of the solution. We construct explicit expressions of these rational solutions for N = 1 to 4.

The unprecedented availability of optical satellite data in cloud-based computing platforms, such as Google Earth Engine (GEE), opens new possibilities to develop crop trait retrieval models from the local to the planetary scale.
