Antitumor Effects of a Combined 5-Aza-2′Deoxycytidine and Valproic Acid Treatment on Rhabdomyosarcoma and Medulloblastoma in Ptch Mutant Mice

2009

Abstract Patched (Ptch) heterozygous mice develop medulloblastoma (MB) and rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) resembling the corresponding human tumors. We have previously shown that epigenetic silencing of the intact Ptch allele contributes to tumor formation in this model. Here, we investigated whether targeting of epigenetic silencing mechanisms could be useful in the treatment of Ptch-associated cancers. A reduction of endogenous DNA methyltransferase1 (Dnmt1) activity significantly reduced tumor incidence in heterozygous Ptch knockout mice. A combined treatment with the Dnmt inhibitor 5-aza-2′deoxycytidine (5-aza-dC) and the histone deacetlyase (HDAC) inhibitor valproic acid (VPA) efficiently prev…

Isolation and characterization of a cDNA encoding a potential morphogen from the marine sponge Geodia cydonium that is conserved in higher metazoans.

1998

Species belonging to the lowest metazoan phylum, the sponges (Porifera), exhibit a surprisingly complex and multifaceted Bauplan (body plan). Recently, key molecules have been isolated from sponges which demonstrate that the cells of these animals are provided with characteristic metazoan adhesion and signal transduction molecules, allowing tissue formation. In order to understand which factors control the spatial organization of these cells in the sponge body plan, we screened for a cDNA encoding a soluble modulator of the behaviour of endothelial cells. A cDNA encoding a putative protein, which is highly similar to the human and mouse endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide (EMAP) II …

Change in weight and central obesity by positive airway pressure treatment in obstructive sleep apnea patients: longitudinal data from the ESADA coho…

2018

The effect of positive airway pressure treatment on weight and markers of central obesity in patients with obstructive sleep apnea remains unclear. We studied the change in body weight and anthropometric measures following positive airway pressure treatment in a large clinical cohort. Patients with obstructive sleep apnea with positive airway pressure treatment from the European Sleep Apnea Database registry (n = 1, 415, 77% male, age 54 ± 11 [mean ± SD] years, body mass index 31.7 ± 6.4 kg/m2, apnea–hypopnea index 37 ± 24 n per hr, Epworth Sleepiness Scale 10.2 ± 5.0) were selected. Changes in body mass index and neck/waist/hip circumferences at baseline and at follow-up visit were analyse…

Autovadītāja identifikācija, izmantojot OBD2 datus

2019

Integral-geometrical consideration of density matrices

1995

The ensemble N-representability problem for the k-th order reduced density matrix (k-RDM) as well as the problem of reconstruction of the N-particle system density matrices (N-DM) from a given k-RDM are studied. The spatial parts of the k-RDM expansion in terms of spin tensorial operators {Theta}{sub {lambda}} are represented using particular values (at specially chosen {Xi} = {Xi}{sub o}) of the Radon transform D{sub N{lambda}} D{sub N{lambda}}({Xi}) of the N-DM spatial parts (or their sums) D{sub N{lambda}}({chi}{prime}{vert_bar}{chi}{double_prime}) (here, {Xi} is a d-plane in the n-space {Re}{double_prime} of {chi} = ({chi}{prime}, {chi}{double_prime}), with n = 6N, d = 3(N - k), {chi}{p…

Population dynamics and genetics of European Pond Turtle Emys orbicularis

2013

Dispersal, characterized by the movements of individuals in space leading to gene flows, allows populations to connect. The study of dispersal has become of essential importance to predict the consequences of global changes on the population structures and dynamics. Species with limited dispersal, such as chelonians, are particularly threatened by these phenomena. Our study aimed at analyzing the dispersal of the European pond turtle (Emys orbicularis), in decline in Europe, in a habitats fragmentation context and determining the causes of this behavior through analysis of population dynamics and genetics. Our results show, firstly, that the slow generation time in Emys orbicularis (about 1…

Reactions of Aminobis(phenolate)‐Supported Dioxidotungsten(VI) and Dioxidomolybdenum(VI) Complexes

2006

The dioxidotungsten(VI) and -molybdenum(VI) complexes [WO2(O2NOMe)] (1), [MoO2(O2NOMe)] (2) and [{MoO2(O2NMe)}2] (3) [O2NOMe methoxyethylamino-N,N-bis(2-methylene-4,6-dimethylphenolate) dianion, O2NMe = methylamino-N,N-bis(2-methylene-4,6-dimethylphenolate) dianion] can react with chloride sources (Me3SiCl, SOCl2) to form resultant monooxido dichloro compounds [WOCl2(O2NOMe)] (4), [MoOCl2(O2NOMe)] (5) and [MoOCl2(O2NMe)] (6), respectively. The reaction of tungsten complex yields of the mixture of cis-4 and trans-4, which can be separated and characterized. The reactions of analogous molybdenum complexes with Me3SiCl yield trans isomers of 5 and 6 as individual products. Reaction of dioxidot…
