In this article I try to show some problems of the interpretation of civil disobedience as a practice that aims to maintain democratic principles against discriminative legal patterns or oligarchic forces. I will present two doctrines, the Rawlsian (followed by Habermas) and the one proposed recently by supporters of a radical constitutional change through the exercise of “constituent power”. The Rawlsian account a) offers a too stringent model of justification of this type of practice and b) does not recognize the plurality of subjects to which civil disobedience appeal. this contribution traces the main stages of the process of criminalization of non-governmental organizations' search and rescue activities in the Central Mediterranea Sea, to light the paradoxes and the shadows. The theoretical framework is that of the civil disobedience and its counterpart, the obligation to obey the law. This perspective, emblematic for investigating complexity, limits and potential of the law itself, has been used because it can bring out the specificity of the positions assumed by the main players involved in the events, as well as the legal and socio-cultural consequences of their actions, by interrogating the dimensions of legality and justice.

In this paper, I will present the conceptual differences between civil disobedience and conscientious objection, which have been depicted by liberal authors such as J. Rawls, J. Raz and in Spain by M. Gascón Abellán. I will argue that conscientious objection, as a practice that is distinct from civil disobedience and rests on a right to “moral privacy”, finds his justification on a subjectivist ethics or on a voluntarist account of natural law. Il presente lavoro intende indagare i profili di giuridicità del diritto di resistenza come un “diritto giuridico” e una pratica costituzionale giustificabile sul terreno normativo. L’ambito della ricerca è circoscritto agli ordinamenti costituzional-democratici. L’obiettivo finale è mostrare che alcuni casi di “resistenza” dovrebbero essere protetti dalla costituzione ed esentati parzialmente o totalmente dalla punizione prevista per la trasgressione della norma giuridica resistita. Analysis of the hydrodynamics of a periodically operated trickle-bed reactor—A shock wave velocity

Abstract The relationship describing the shock wave velocity was formulated for the trickle-bed reactor operating at periodically changed feeding the bed with liquid phase. The values of shock wave velocity calculated from derived equations were compared with experimental values obtained for both fast and slow mode of base–pulse periodic liquid feeding and using liquids differing in physicochemical properties. A good agreement between these two sets of values of shock wave velocity was obtained. It has to be emphasized that the relationship (Eq. (26) ) derived in this study enables to estimate the values of the shock wave velocity when only mean values of variables of a process are known.
An exceptional rocky shore preserved during Oligocene (Late Rupelian) transgression in the Upper Rhine Graben (Mainz Basin, Germany)

The Early Oligocene (Late Rupelian) Alzey Formation (Mainz Basin, Upper Rhine Graben, Germany) records the development of a rocky coast depositional system during transgression. The formation unconformably overlies Permian bedrock across a composite transgressive ravinement surface. Exposure of the surface shows a succession of subplanar bedrock terraces, separated by near-vertical risers. Terraces show a broad staircase geometry and display wave-erosional features (notches, sea stacks, furrows). Detailed sedimentological and palaeoecological investigations reveal prograding beachface and shoreface depositional units that overlie terraces and are adjacent to risers. Terraces are interpreted…

This work proposes a comparison among GaN and SiC device main parameters measured with a dedicated and low-cost embedded system, employing an STM32 microcontroller designed to the purpose. The system has the advantage to avoid the use of expensive laboratory measurement equipment to test the devices, allowing to obtain their behavior in operating conditions. The following KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are measured and critically compared: threshold voltage, on-resistance and input capacitance. The topic of this study was the mineralogical and petrographic characterization of bedding mortars (made of different layers) and tesserae of Roman age (3rd Century A.D.), taken from the mosaic of the Frigidarium of “Villa Bonanno”, brought to light by archaeological excavations conducted in the historical centre of Palermo.
