An Extension of the VSM Documents Representation using Word Embedding
2017
Abstract In this paper, we will present experiments that try to integrate the power of Word Embedding representation in real problems for documents classification. Word Embedding is a new tendency used in the natural language processing domain that tries to represent each word from the document in a vector format. This representation embeds the semantically context in that the word occurs more frequently. We include this new representation in a classical VSM document representation and evaluate it using a learning algorithm based on the Support Vector Machine. This new added information makes the classification to be more difficult because it increases the learning time and the memory neede…
Electronic transport in molecular junctions : The generalized Kadanoff–Baym ansatz with initial contact and correlations
2021
The generalized Kadanoff-Baym ansatz (GKBA) offers a computationally inexpensive approach to simulate out-of-equilibrium quantum systems within the framework of nonequilibrium Green's functions. For finite systems the limitation of neglecting initial correlations in the conventional GKBA approach has recently been overcome [Phys. Rev. B 98, 115148 (2018)]. However, in the context of quantum transport the contacted nature of the initial state, i.e., a junction connected to bulk leads, requires a further extension of the GKBA approach. In this work, we lay down a GKBA scheme which includes initial correlations in a partition-free setting. In practice, this means that the equilibration of the …
Non-uniform Sediment Transport Estimation in Non-equilibrium Situations: Case Studies
2014
Abstract Quantitative estimate of sediment transport in alluvial channels is one of the most important task in river engineering. Even today, numerical models of sediment transport processes are confronted with some difficulties, often of conceptual nature. One of these difficulties is the simulation of non-uniform sediment transport in non-equilibrium situations, which requires the characterization of the ability of the alluvial system to immediately overcome the variations of the sediment boundary conditions. In this work a 1-D numerical model, which includes a new expression of the so-called “adaptation coefficient”, has been applied to test its capability to simulate the transient bed p…
On the bubbling dynamics of binary mixtures of powders in 2D gas-solid fluidized beds
2012
Abstract The bubbling behavior of fluidized beds has been thoroughly investigated in the last decades by means of several techniques (e.g. X-ray, Inductance, Resistance and Impedance based techniques). In recent years, Digital Image Analysis Techniques have shown their potential for accurate and cost effective measurements. Most of the works related to the experimental analysis of bubble behavior in the field of gas-solid fluidization actually deal with monodispersed particles although almost all industrial equipments operate with mixtures of particles. Among the works available in literature dealing with mixtures of particles having different diameters and/or densities, most of them aim at…

Biometric sensors rapid prototyping on field-programmable gate arrays
2015
AbstractBiometric user authentication in large-scale distributed systems involves passive scanners and networked workstations and databases for user data acquisition, processing, and encryption. Unfortunately, traditional biometric authentication systems are prone to several attacks, such as Replay Attacks, Communication Attacks, and Database Attacks. Embedded biometric sensors overcome security limits of conventional software recognition systems, hiding its common attack points. The availability of mature reconfigurable hardware technology, such as field-programmable gate arrays, allows the developers to design and prototype the whole embedded biometric sensors. In this work, two strong an…
LocalRec 2019 workshop report: The Third ACM SIGSPATIAL Workshop on Location-Based Recommendations, Geosocial Networks and Geoadvertising
2020
The amount of publicly available geo-referenced data has seen a dramatic explosion over the past few years. Many user activities generate data that are annotated with location and contextual information. Furthermore, it has become easier to collect and combine rich and diverse location information. In the context of geoadvertising, the use of geosocial data for targeted marketing is receiving significant attention from a wide spectrum of companies and organizations. With the advent of smartphones and online social networks, a multi-billion dollar industry that utilizes geosocial data for advertising and marketing has emerged. Geotagged social-media posts, GPS traces, data from cellular ante…
Ontology and protocol secure for SCADA: Int. J. of Metadata, Semantics and Ontologies, 2014 Vol.9, No.2, pp.114 - 127
2014
International audience; In this work, we present a semantic cyber security system and we study its semantic intelligent systems vulnerabilities, focusing on the semantic attacks. For resolving semantic problems we propose a security global solution for the new generation of SCADA systems. The proposed solution aims at protecting critical semantic SCADA processes from the effects of major failures and semantic vulnerabilities in the modern IT-SCADA network. We used a security block in the global network access point, security protocols deployed in different network (OSI) levels and security ontologies deployed in security devices. We used our mixed coordinates (ECC) cryptography solution, th…
NoC based virtualized FPGA as cloud Services
2016
International audience; Web-based applications are increasingly demanding many computationally intensive services. On the other hand, FPGA-based hardware accelerators(HwAcc) provide good performance in accelerating computationally intensive applications. In addition, some FPGAs support a dynamic partial reconfig-uration (DPR) techniques to virtualize and share the FPGA underlying hardware resources in time multiplexing during run-time to save resource and power consumption. Integrating FPGA in a cloud environment is an indispensable way to improve efficiency and provide acceleration services to demanding users. More importantly, in recent years it was proved that FPGA resources deployed in …
A New Universal-Environment Adaptive Multi-processor Scheduler for Autonomous Cyber-Physical System
2012
International audience; Robot, spaceship and other applications that can be called autonomous Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are all smart embedded systems, which usually run in open environment by themselves with inhered intelligent capabilities. Besides the application intelligence, the researches of adaptive platform for such systems have also become topics recently. Based on the analysis of current work, a new environment adaptive scheduler (¦Á-S) for multiprocessor platform of a cyber-physical system is proposed in this article. And then, its related structures, models, and reasoning methods are studied deeply. Different from the existing ones, ¦Á-S can schedule all tasks according to th…
