Abstract Knowledge of species richness patterns in plant communities is biased toward its hidden belowground part and is derived only from the part visible aboveground. Studies on the relationship of the above- to belowground parts of plant communities suffer from the lack of a consistent and uniform approach to assess their taxonomic composition, particularly in species-rich ecosystems. Sabiedrību atspoguļojums akmens laikmeta apbedīšanas tradīcijās Latvijas teritorijā

Apbedījumi un apbedījumu tradīcijas ir nozīmīgs avots seno sabiedrību pētniecībā. Lai gan Latvijas teritorijas akmens laikmeta apbedījumu vietās ir notikusi plaša arheoloģiskā pētniecība, tomēr maz uzmanība ir veltīta pētījumu rezultātu apkopošanai un secinājumu veikšanai. Maģistra darba mērķis ir pēc apbedīšanas tradīcijām analizēt akmens laikmeta sabiedrības Latvijas teritorijā. Iegūtie rezultāti parāda, ka dažādu sabiedrību starpā vērojamas gan līdzības, gan atsķirības apbedījumu tradīcijās, kas turklāt akmens laikmeta gaitā mainījušās. Taxonomy is a knowledge management tool that presents useful information in a well-ordered structure prevents overloading of information on its access and making the information access qualitative. This article is concerned with automatically extracting asymmetrical hierarchical relations from a large corpus and subsequent taxonomy construction by domain independent and semi-supervised system. The methodology relies on the term’s distributional semantics. The algorithm utilizes the word-embedding generated from the vector space model. Self-Esteem, Socially Prescribed Perfectionism, and Parental Burnout

AbstractSocially prescribed perfectionism (SPP) has been shown to be a risk factor for parental burnout (Sorkkila & Aunola, 2020). In the present study, we investigated the moderating role of self-esteem in this association. A total of 479 Finnish mothers of infants filled in questionnaires measuring their self-esteem, SPP, and symptoms of parental burnout. The results of structural equation modelling (SEM) showed that mothers’ self-esteem moderated the effect of SPP on parental burnout: Mothers with high self-esteem were at lower risk of showing burnout symptoms even when SPP co-occurred, whereas for mothers with low self-esteem, the effect of SPP on burnout symptoms was further streng…

WordNet is a state-of-the-art lexical resource used in many tasks in Natural Language Processing, also in multi-word expression (MWE) recognition. However, not all MWEs recorded in WordNet could be indisputably called lexicalised. Some of them are semantically compositional and show no signs of idiosyncrasy. This state of affairs affects all evaluation measures that use the list of all WordNet MWEs as a gold standard.
