Malnutrition is a major challenge in South Africa (SA), particularly in Eastern Cape and Limpopo provinces, which are predominantly black and historically disadvantaged. This thesis aims to assess the potential of Moringa oleifera (MO) as a source of nutritional improvement in the diets of mothers and their children in these provinces. Known for its nutritional benefits, MO is a plant native to India, now cultivated in SA but not widely used for human nutrition. A two-part approach was followed in this thesis. AbstractIt has repeatedly been found that temperamental inhibition and low academic achievement are associated with each other: children with cautious and wary or shy behaviour are at risk for low academic achievement. Achieving broad immunity through vaccination is a cornerstone strategy for long-term management of COVID-19 infections, particularly the prevention of serious cases and hospitalizations. Evidence that vaccine-induced immunity wanes over time points to the need for COVID-19 booster vaccines, and maximum compliance is required to maintain population-level immunity. Successful language learning depends crucially on the activity and initiative of the learner (van Lier 2008: 163). However, before a learner engages their agentic resources and chooses to exercise their agency in a particular learning context, they have to hold a personal sense of agency – a belief that their behaviour can make a difference to their learning in that setting. The first purpuse of this investigation was to study the effects of sex and grade level on secondary students’ beliefs about epistemology and problem solving. The second purpuse was to analyze the contribution of both belief systems, grade level, and sex to problem solving achievement. One hundred and forty-four High School students, 9th and 11th grade students, took part in the study. Two questionnaires (Schommer and StageKloosterman’s questionnaires) and a problem solving test (two word problems of the PISA tests) were administered to these students. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot iracionālo pārliecību, darba pašefektivitātes un uztvertā stresa saistību organizāciju vidē. Veicot regresijas un korelāciju analīzi, tika apskatīta darba pašefektivitātes un uztvertā stresa skalu saistība ar iracionalitātes skalām. Pētījumā piedalījās 402 respondenti (319 sievietes un 83 vīrieši), vidējais vecums izlasē bija 28,09 gadi (SD=10,29). Dati tika ievākti interneta vidē, uzrunājot Latvijas izglītības iestāžu studiju metodiķes un lietvedes, kā arī, publicējot aptaujas tiešsaistes adresei interneta sociālajos tīklos. Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación que pertenece al grupo de estudios sobre el conocimiento del profesorado. Tiene como objetivos explorar las concepciones de planificación del profesorado y del personal gestor de la formación profesional para el empleo y analizar similitudes y divergencias entre las mismas, puesto que ambos son agentes que participan en los procesos de planificación en esta formación. La metodología es de orientación cuantitativa basada en un método descriptivo.
