4-(3H)-quinazolinones N-3 substituted with a five membered heterocycle: A promising scaffold towards bioactive molecules

2020

Abstract The quinazolinone nucleus represents, among the class of fused heterocycles, a very important scaffold to obtain molecules with biological activities. A review of literature revealed how such kind of fused heterocycles, coming from natural or synthetic source, are associated with a wide range of biological activities. This review is mainly directed towards the 4-(3H)-quinazolinones N-3 substituted with a five membered heterocycle in which all the possible combinations of nitrogen, sulfur and oxygen atoms are present.

Changes in the Level of Peptidase Activities in Pea Ovaries during Senescence and Fruit Set Induced by Gibberellic Acid

1990

The activities and changes in the levels of exopeptidase and endopeptidase activities were characterized in unpollinated ovaries of Pisum sativum L. cv Alaska during senescence and early fruit development induced by gibberellic acid (GA3). Two aminopeptidases and one iminopeptidase were electrophoretically separated. These peptidases were sensitive to inhibitors of sulfhydryl proteases. Carboxypeptidase activity was inhibited by phenylmethyl sulfonyl fluoride. An azocasein-degrading endopeptidase, sensitive to thiol protease inhibitors, was also found. An increase in the specific activity of aminopeptidase during both fruit development and ovary senescence was observed. In contrast, the spe…

GIBBERELLINS REGULATE CELL DIVISION AND PARTHENOCARPIC FRUIT SET IN CITRUS

Fruit set and growth is regulated by hormones interaction, gibberellins (GA) being a main part of the process in Citrus. Actually, it is well known the time-course of GA content in the citrus ovary during flowering and its correlation with fruit set in both seeded and seedless species. However, GA endogenous role is uncertain. Is GA in the ovary a direct regulator or an indirect part of the hormonal stimuli that reactivates and maintains cell division triggering fruit set? While in seeded varieties GA synthesis that occurs in fertilized ovules is the primary stimulus controlling early ovary development, is there any specific tissue-dependent regulation of parthenocarpy? While initiation of …

The Cozzo Disi mine (Casteltermini, Sicily, Italy) a multi-disciplinary approach to record, study, preserve and develop the mining heritage in Sicily

2015

Cozzo Disi was one of the main sulphur mines in Italy, but after the closure and more than 10 years of desertion, urgent works are now necessary to save it from vandalism and flooding. This big mine contains geological and mineralogical peculiarities, so uncommon to be sometimes unique: this is the case of the “Grandi Garbere” at 3rd level, majestic karst cavities, containing magnificent selenite crystals documented by old miners. The possibility to have a “Sicilian Naica” attracted a multi-disciplinary underground task-force, now exploring the mine underground, in order to inspect old works and their good-safety conditions, and to achieve the rooms/caves of “Grandi Garbere”. This extraordi…

An integrated approach for the HCl and metals recovery from waste pickling solutions: pilot plant and design operations

2021

Abstract Continuous regeneration of industrial pickling solutions and recovery of valuable materials are implemented in a pilot-scale plant including diffusion dialysis (DD), where HCl is recovered, membrane distillation (MD), where HCl is concentrated, and reactive precipitation (CSTR), where metal ions are recovered in different forms. The integration of the three processes allows to minimize waste streams generation and to accomplish a closed-loop process, thus increasing the environmental sustainability and economic impact of the galvanizing industry. Process reliability was proved through the operation of a demonstrator in the real industrial environment of the Tecnozinco SrL hot-dip g…

CIBERESPAÑOL: THE SPANISH LANGUAGE ON THE INTERNET

2015

The recent spread of information technology and communications has introduced profound changes in the way young people communicate. Many are the registers used by young people, among them: the formal employed at the university and at work, and the informal used with their peers in familiar contexts. The way in which young people communicate, changes from generation to generation and is influenced by several factors: media, newspapers and the world around them. Often the youth language is characterized by the presence of new terms and forms, that sometimes it looks like a code that you have to interpret and decode. Nowadays Internet has undoubtedly changed our lives and the way we communicat…

PICCOLE PATRIE E GRANDI CONFLITTI

2013

MR3299506 Reviewed Rădulescu, Florin(I-ROME2) On unbounded, non-trivial Hochschild cohomology in finite von Neumann algebras and higher order Berezin…

2015

If (At)t>1 is a family of finite von Neumann algebras with a Chapman-Kolmogorov set of linear maps (symbol system) (Φs,t), and if αt:A→A are isomorphisms in a finite family of von Neumann algebras, the corresponding Hochschild cocycles are related to an obstruction to the deformation of the set of linear maps (Φs,t) in the corresponding Chapman-Kolmogorov system (Φs,t)˜ of completely positive maps. In this set-up, the author introduces an invariant (c,Z) for a finite von Neumann algebra M, consisting of a 2-Hochschild cohomology cocycle c and a coboundary unbounded operator Z for c. With some assumptions on c and Z=α+X+iY (α>0, Y is antisymmetric), the existence of an unbounded derivation δ…
