Hepatīta B vīrusa (HBV) infekcija hroniskā formā ir viena no bīstamākajām mūsdienu saslimšanām, tāpēc aktīvi tiek meklētas iedarbīgas zāles infekcijas ārstēšanai. Ar mērķi atrast efektīvu un netoksisku HBV nukleokapsīdu inhibitoru, ir veikta plaši pētīta Bay-41-4109 inhibitora un tā analogu pārbaude zīdītāju šūnās. Šajā darbā HBV kapsīdas proteīna (HBc) sintēze BHK-21 šūnās nodrošināta, izmantojot rekombinantu alfavīrusa replikonu. Ir pārbaudīta Bay-41-4109 un tā analogu citotoksicitāte šūnās. Izmantojot natīvās agarozes un SDS-PAA gēla elektroforēzes un imunoblota metodes tika salīdzināta inhibitoru ietekme uz HBc proteīna ekspresiju un nukleokapsīdu veidošanos šūnās. Ex-ante and ex-post measurement of equality of opportunity in health: a normative decomposition.

This paper proposes and discusses two different approaches to the definition of inequality in health: the ex-ante and the ex-post approach. It proposes strategies for measuring inequality of opportunity in health based on the path-independent Atkinson equality index. The proposed methodology is illustrated using data from the British Household Panel Survey; the results suggest that in the period 2000–2005, at least one-third of the observed health equalities in the UK were equalities of opportunity.
Quality of Life and Job Loss during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Mediation by Hopelessness and Moderation by Trait Emotional Intelligence

This study contributes to the knowledge on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic by examining a moderated mediation model in which the impact of job loss over quality of life (QoL) is mediated by hopelessness and moderated by trait emotional intelligence (trait EI). Data were collected from a large nationally representative Italian sample of adult workers (N = 1610), who completed a series of anonymous online questionnaires. Total, direct and indirect effects were estimated through bootstrapped mediated moderation analyses providing 95% bias corrected bootstrap confidence intervals. Search for a fermiophobic Higgs at LEP 2

Higgs bosons predicted by the fermiophobic scenario within Two Higgs Doublets Models were searched for in the data collected by the DELPHI detector at centre-of-mass energies between 189 GeV and 202 GeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 380 pb^{-1}. No signal was found and confidence limits were derived in the framework of possible extensions of the Standard Model Higgs sector.
