Comparative Molecular Evolution of Primary (Buchnera) and Secondary Symbionts of Aphids Based on Two Protein-Coding Genes

A+T content, phylogenetic relationships, codon usage, evolutionary rates, and ratio of synonymous versus non-synonymous substitutions have been studied in partial sequences of the atpD and aroQ/pheA genes of primary ( Buchnera) and secondary symbionts of aphids and a set of selected non-symbiotic bacteria, belonging to the five subdivisions of the Proteobacteria. Cloning and sequencing of the dnaK region of Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2)

Abstract The dnaK homologue of Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2) strain M145 has been cloned and sequenced. Nucleotide sequence analysis of a 2.5-kb region revealed an open reading frame (ORF) encoding a predicted DnaK protein of 618 amino acids (Mr = 66 274). The dnaK coding sequence displays extreme codon bias and shows a strong preference for CGY and GGY, for Arg and Gly codons, respectively. The predicted DnaK sequence has a high Lys:Arg ratio which is not typical of streptomycete proteins. Anomalous transport effects on switching currents of graphene-based Josephson junctions

We explore the effect of noise on the ballistic graphene-based small Josephson junctions in the framework of the resistively and capacitively shunted model. We use the non-sinusoidal current-phase relation specific for graphene layers partially covered by superconducting electrodes. The noise induced escapes from the metastable states, when the external bias current is ramped, give the switching current distribution, i.e. the probability distribution of the passages to finite voltage from the superconducting state as a function of the bias current, that is the information more promptly available in the experiments. Switching times in long-overlap Josephson junctions subject to thermal fluctuations and non-Gaussian noise sources

We investigate the superconducting lifetime of long current-biased Josephson junctions, in the presence of Gaussian and non-Gaussian noise sources. In particular, we analyze the dynamics of a Josephson junction as a function of the noise signal intensity, for different values of the parameters of the system and external driving currents. We find that the mean lifetime of the superconductive state is characterized by nonmonotonic behavior as a function of noise intensity, driving frequency and junction length. Context matters-consensus molecular subtypes of colorectal cancer as biomarkers for clinical trials

Heart rate variability and self-control—A meta-analysis

Heart rate variability (HRV) has been suggested as a biological correlate of self-control. Whereas many studies found a relationship between HRV at rest and self-control, effect sizes vary substantially across studies in magnitude and direction. This meta-analysis evaluated the association between HRV at rest and self-control in laboratory tasks, with a particular focus on the identification of moderating factors (task characteristics, methodological aspects of HRV assessment, demographics).
