Tutkim…
Emocijvārdu semantika latviešu valodas tīmeklī: dažāda satura tipa blogu atšķirības
2020
Bakalaura darba mērķis ir apskatīt dažādu emociju vārdu semantiku latviskajā tīmekļa vidē esošajos dažādu kategoriju blogos. Mērķa sasniegšanai tiks izveidots valodas korpuss, kas sastāv no latviešu valodā pieejamajiem dažādu blogu ierakstiem. Apskatot dažādu emociju modeļu piedāvātās emocijas tiks izvēlēti dažādi emociju vārdi, kuru semantika tiks apskatīta izveidotā valodas korpusa apakškorpusos. Salīdzinot emociju vārdu semantiku tiks apskatīti vārda konkordances saraksti katrā no izvēlētajiem apakškorpusiem. Darba rezultātā tiks noskaidrots vai emociju vārdu nozīme dažādu tipu blogos atšķiras. Tiks izstrādāti daži rīki, kas paredzēti atvieglot valodas korpusa izveidi izmantojot tīmekļa …
Biogenic amine levels, reproduction and social dominance in the queenless ant Streblognathus peetersi
2006
Social harmony often relies on ritualized dominance interactions between society members, particularly in queenless ant societies, where colony members do not have developmentally predetermined castes but have to fight for their status in the reproductive and work hierarchy. In this behavioural plasticity, their social organisation resembles more that of vertebrates than that of the "classic" social insects. The present study investigates the neurochemistry of the queenless ant species, Streblognathus peetersi, to better understand the neural basis of the high behavioural plasticity observed in queenless ants. We report measurements of brain biogenic amines [octopamine, dopamine, serotonin]…

Franču jaunā viļņa un videoblogeru stilistikas salīdzinošā analīze
2019
The use of EduBlog in initial teachers training: an experience of a teaching innovation project
2020
Digital technologies are central elements of today's society. In this context to achieve an adequate degree of development of Digital Competence for professional performance is essential, as well as for life in society and the exercise of citizenship. Higher Education must actively contribute to develop Digital Competence, training students to effectively use digital technologies. That need is exacerbated in the case of initial teacher training, not only because of the progress towards a digitalized school, but also because of the fundamental role in the training of future generations. With the aim of promoting the development of Digital Teaching Competence, this paper presents an innovatio…
Growing the Otome Game Market: Fan Labor and Otome Game Communities Online
2019
Otome games are a niche category of Japanese games marketed toward women. Outside its country of origin and the infrastructure of the anime media mix, its predominantly female player communities traditionally have defined these games as those that feature romance or dating simulation. In this paper, I look into how fan bloggers talk about their own work in marketing and distributing otome games beyond Japan. In the case of otome game fan blogging, the ability to shape discussions surrounding otome games also relies upon maintaining the image of players as good consumers. Although this work focuses on the practice of fan blogging, it is part of an ongoing study on otome games in English and …
The Concept of Love in Masculinist Blogs : A Strategic Ideal
2018
Love is often considered a positive emotion and an ethical relationship between people. The representations of love in contemporary culture usually emphasise its beneficial, even empowering effects. However, the fluidity of the concept also enables other kinds of representations of love to flourish. For example, the advocates of traditional gender order — masculinists or male rights activists (MRAs)-— use idealistic images of heterosexual love, often intertwined with the idealised heterosexual nuclear family, to promote repressive ideologies such as misogyny and antifeminism. This is increasingly done with the help of internet sites. In this chapter I wish to show that the fluidity of the c…
