After the fall of Constantinople (1453), Pero Tafur and Bertrandon de La Broquière make known their works, which are two of the most important travel books written in Europe during the fifteenth century. Both travellers had known, between fifteen and twenty years before, the emperor of Greece, John VIII Palaiologos, Pope Eugene IV and other protagonists of the councils of Basel (1431-1434) and Ferrara-Florence (1438-1439), which decreed the union between the Roman and Greek churches. Differential scanning calorimetry investigation of phase transition in $BaZr_{x}Ti_{1-x}O_{3}$

ABSTRACT Lead-free BaZrxTi1-xO3 (x = 0; 0.025; 0.125) ceramics have been obtained by a conventional method. A single-phase perovskite structure of the ceramics was identified by the X-ray diffraction method. EDS analysis, performed for the individual grains of the tested sample, showed a good homogeneous distribution of all elements throughout the grains. The thermal behaviour of BaZrxTi1-xO3 (x = 0; 0.025; 0.125) ceramics was studied using the Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Measurements showed the influence of Zr addition on the character of phase transition in the BaTiO3 structure. The results were compared with these ones obtained for pure BaTiO3.

Abstract We investigated CD8 + T cell frequencies of five different Epstein–Barr virus-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte epitopes located within proteins of the replicative cycle and the latent state in healthy long-term virus carriers with IFN-γ enzyme-linked immunospot assay. Frequencies of the HLA-A3-restricted epitope RVRAYTYSK (RVR) whose minimal length was mapped in this study to amino acid position 148–156 of the immediate-early protein BRLF1 were compared with those of a further known HLA-A3-restricted epitope within EBNA3A, RLRAEAQVK (RLR). Iron is an essential micronutrient for most living beings since it participates as a redox active cofactor in many biological processes including cellular respiration, lipid biosynthesis, DNA replication and repair, and ribosome biogenesis and recycling. However, when present in excess, iron can participate in Fenton reactions and generate reactive oxygen species that damage cells at the level of proteins, lipids and nucleic acids. Benztropine (BZT) analogs, a family of high-affinity dopamine transporter ligands, are molecules that exhibit pharmacological and behavioral characteristics predictive of significant therapeutic potential in cocaine addiction. Here, we examined in mice the effects of 3 alpha-[bis(4'-fluorophenyl)metoxy]-tropane (AHN-1055) on motor activity, conditioned place preference (CPP) and c-Fos expression in the striatum. AHN-1055 produced mild attenuation of spontaneous locomotor activity at a low dose (1 mg/kg) and weak stimulation at a higher dose (10 mg/kg).
