Investigation of a Killer Strain of Zygosaccharomyces Bailii

Summary: The yeast Zygosaccharomyces bailii strain 412 was found to liberate a killer toxin (KT412) lethal to sensitive strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Candida glabrata. Culture supernatants of the killer strain were concentrated by ultrafiltration and the extracellular protein was purified by gel filtration and ion-exchange chromatography. Gel filtration and SDS-PAGE of the electrophoretically homogeneous killer protein indicated an apparent molecular mass of 10 kDa. The killer toxin KT412 is probably not glycosylated since it did not show any detectable carbohydrate structures. KT412 was bound to sensitive but not to resistant yeast cells. BRRD) e poi attuata in Italia con i recenti decreti di recepimento n. 180 e 181 del 16 novembre 2015; e ne studia le peculiari disposizioni di diritto - ad un tempo e con reciproco intreccio - societario e concorsuale della banca in crisi, mettendone a fuoco ragioni, problemi e collocazione sistematica della loro plurima impronta di specialità.

Pētījuma „Sociālā funkcionēšana pēc aortas vārstuļa protezēšanas vēlīnajā pēcoperācijas periodā” mērķis ir izpētīt sociālo funkcionēšanu pēc aortas vārstuļa protezēšanas vēlīnajā pēcoperācijas periodā un noteikt baiļu iespējamo ietekmi sociālās funkcionēšanas rādītājos. Kvantitatīvā pētījuma rezultātā hipotēzes tiek galvenokārt apstiprinātas. Iegūtie dati raksturo fizisko un emocionālo pašsajūtu, attiecības ar līdzcilvēkiem un dzīvesveidu pēc aortas vārstuļa protezēšanas, kā arī baiļu ietekmi uz šiem rādītājiem. Presentation and analysis of the Relazione (Report) on the return voyage of Giorgio Giustinian, Bailo of Constantinople (1627), of particular interest due to the exceptional nature of the itinerary followed, which progressed into Macedonia and Serbia as far as Sofia and Belgrade and then turned towards Sarajevo, Mostar and reached Spalato. The document allows us to add an important element to the voyage reports between Venice and Constantinople, at the moment when the difficult relations between the Most Serene Republic and the Ottoman Empire seemed having found a new balance at the expense of the Republic of Ragusa. The unpublished Relazione is provided in the Appendix.

The European sovereign debt market: from integration to segmentation

This paper investigates the impact of European Monetary Union (EMU) and of the recent financial and fiscal crisis on the integration of the European sovereign debt market using annual data 1992–2010. The panel regression dependent variable is time-varying market linkages computed from daily realised correlations between sovereign bond returns for 13 European economies and Germany. The results indicate that the elimination of currency risk following the implementation of EMU led to a fundamental and significant one-off increase in integration. Non-conventional yeasts from fermented honey by-products: Focus on Hanseniaspora uvarum strains for craft beer production

The increasing interest in novel beer productions focused on non-Saccharomyces yeasts in order to pursue their potential in generating groundbreaking sensory profiles. Traditional fermented beverages represent an important source of yeast strains which could express interesting features during brewing. A total of 404 yeasts were isolated from fermented honey by-products and identified as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Wickerhamomyces anomalus, Zygosaccharomyces bailii, Zygosaccharomyces rouxii and Hanseniaspora uvarum.
